How to Make Healthy Chicken Adobo BBQ. This video covers an installment in our grilling series which includes the best BBQ chipotle cayenne basting sauce from our experimentation as well as the Low Salt (Sodium) and Low Sugar version adobo marinade.

Chicken Adobo is unofficially the national dish of the Philippines. There are many variations of it that exist regionally around the Philippines, but here we look for the healthiest!

Adobo Marinade Ingredients:

4 LB bone-in, Skin-on Chicken Thighs or Legs
3/4 cup Coconut Aminos
1/2 cup Cane Vinegar
1/2 cup of Pineapple Slices Only (Reduce Sugar but keep the Flavor)
3 tbsp of Packed Sukrin Gold (Low Calories and Does NOT Raise Blood Sugar)
1/3 cup Chopped Garlic
Zest from 1/2 lime
3 Bay Leaves
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1 cup of Chopped Vidalia Onions
Cilantro and chopped green onions for garnish (Optional)

Chipotle Cayenne Basting Sauce Ingredients:

2 tbsp Olive Oil
2 pinches of Cayenne Pepper
1/4 tsp Chipotle Chili Powder
1 tsp Monk Fruit
