CROCKPOT BBQ CHINESE PORK RIBLETS BEGINNER FRIENDLY FULL RECIPE

This beginner friendly recipe shows how to cook Chinese BBQ Pork Riblets in a crockpot. It is finished in the broiler , basted for 10 minutes or less. Simply add the seasoning packet , meat tenderizer ( optional ) & that’s it. The BBQ sauce & chili sauce is added at the end. I will list the ingredients used below.

CROCKPOT BBQ CHINESE PORK RIBLET RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
1. 3 TO 5 LBS OF PORK RIBLETS
2. 1/3 TO 1 CUP OF WHITE VINEGAR
3. 3 TO 4 CUPS OF COOL OR COLD WATER
4. 1/2 TEASPOON OF MEAT TENDERIZER ( OPTIONAL )
5. 1 TO 2 PACKAGES OF – NOH CHINESE BARBECUE CHAR SIU SEASONING MIX
6. FOIL
7. 1/3 CUP OR LESS OF SWEET CHILI SAUCE ( SWEET & SOUR DUCK SAUCE IS A GREAT SUBSTITUTE )
8. 1/2 CUP OR LESS OF HAWAIIAN SWEET & SMOKY BBQ SAUCE ( ANY BBQ SAUCE OF YOUR CHOICE WILL BE FINE )

INSTRUCTIONS
1. PLACE THE PORK RIBLETS IN A LARGE BOWL. TRIM OFF ANY EXCESS FAT. ADD COOL OR COLD WATER & THE WHITE VINEGAR. SOAK FOR 30 MINS & UP TO 1 HOUR . DRAIN & RINSE SEVERAL TIMES IN COOL OR COLD WATER. ** THE PORK RIBLETS WILL NOT TASTE LIKE VINEGAR.**. DRY THE RIBLETS WITH A PAPER TOWEL & RETURN TO THE CLEAN BOWL.

2. ADD THE CHINESE BARBECUE SEASON PACKET TO THE RIBLETS. THE MEAT TENDERIZER CAN ALSO BE ADDED AT THIS TIME. ( IF YOU ADD THE TENDERIZER NOW, DO NOT ADD AGAIN . ) RUB THE SEASONING INTO THE PORK RIBLETS. MARINATE FROM 30 MINUTES AND UP TO 24 HOURS IN THE REFRIGERATOR.

3. USING THE CROCKPOT , ADD THE PORK RIBLETS TO THE POT. POUR ANY EXCESS JUICES FROM THE BOWL ONTO THE RIBLETS. SET THE CROCKPOT TO HIGH FOR 3 HOURS OR MEDIUM OR LOW FOR 3 1/2 HOURS. COVER THE CROCKPOT WITH A PIECE OF FOIL. PUT THE CROCKPOT TOP ON THE POT.

4. AFTER 3 HOURS CHECK THE RIBLETS FOR TENDERNESS. IF TENDER , CUT OFF THE CROCKPOT . USING A LONG PAN OR SHEET PAN. CAREFULLY PLACE THE RIBLETS ONTO THE PAN.

5. MIX THE CHILI SAUCE & BBQ SAUCE TOGETHER IN A BOWL. BASTE THE FRONT & BACK OF THE RIBLETS WITH THE SAUCE.

6. TURN THE BOILER ON TO HIGH. *** DO NOT WALK AWAY WHILE USING THE BROILER. THE RIBS WILL BURN WITHIN A BLINK OF AN EYE . ***

7. PLACE THE RIBLETS CAREFULLY UNDER THE BROILER UNTIL YOU SEE THE SAUCE BUBBLING.

8. CAREFULLY REMOVE THE PAN & BASTE THE RIBLETS AGAIN.

9. RETURN BACK TO THE BROILER WATCHING FOR THE SAUCE TO BUBBLE & THICKEN. SHOULDN’T BE MORE THAN 5 MINUTES.

10. CAREFULLY REMOVE THE PAN AND YOUR RIBLETS ARE NOW DONE. ** TURN THE BROILER OFF **

11. SERVE WITH YOUR FAVORITE SIDES & SOME ADDITIONAL SAUCE. YOU CAN ALSO SERVE SOME DUCK SAUCE TO DIP THE RIBLETS IN.
