How to Cook Chinese BARBECUE PORK – Mouth-watering Pork Roast Recipe (叉燒)

Barbecue Pork (or Char Siu) is the Chinese way of cooking Roasted Pork. ‘Char Siu’ literally means roasting with a fork. It is a popular dish in most Chinese restaurants, where the red Char Siu usually hanging from hooks in the window. The traditional roasted pork is skewered with long forks and placed over a charcoal fire. Our home recipe simplified the steps and roasted with oven. This Chinese roasted pork recipe is finger licking’ good! You will be surprised how easy it is to make it at home.

INGREDIENTS (4 serving)
– Pork Fillet (600g)
– Char Siu Sauce (4 tbsp.)
– Chinese Rose Wine / Mei Kwei Lu (1 tbsp.)
– Hoi Sin Sauce (1 tbsp.)
– Sugar (1 tbsp.)
– Soy Sauce (1 tbsp.)
– Osmanthus Fragrant (0.5g)
– Honey

DIRECTIONS
1. Marinate pork fillet with Char siu sauce, Chinese rose wine, Hoi sin sauce, sugar, soy sauce and Osmanthus fragrant. Mix the sauce well to cover all of the pork.
2. Keep the pork in a container to marinate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
3. Pre-heat oven at 220°C / 428°F.
4. Place pork in a baking tray and roast for 25-30 mins, or until cooked.
5. Brush honey on the pork. Turn and brush honey on both sides.
6. Roast for 5 more mins.
7. Slice into pieces.
8. Cook the remaining marinate sauce with a pan over medium heat.
9. Serve the barbecue pork over rice. Pour the sauce on top.
