Smoked Barbecue Pork Ribs (Filipino Style) Recipe

Ingredients:

Phase 1:
3 pounds pork ribs (spare ribs, St. Louis-style ribs, or baby back ribs)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup lemon-lime soda
2 tbsp white vinegar
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 pork bouillon cube (dissolve in soy sauce)
2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika

Phase 2:
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup lemon-lime soda
1/4 cup unsalted butter

Barbecue sauce:
Remainder of the marinade from phase one
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp cornstarch (dissolve in 1/2 cup of water)
1 cup brown sugar
