How Not to Screw Up BBQ Sauce

This week I make a Carolina Style Vinegar Based BBQ Sauce. The sauce is great for pork or chicken or whatever. I prefer it on pork and chicken.
Carolina style sauce is tangy and a little sweet with a hint of spicy. It’s a thin sauce. This recipe is one I borrowed from Malcom Reed and added a few things of my own.

Combine in a sauce pan

16 0z tomato Ketchup
16 0z Tomato Sauce
12 oz Chilli Sauce
1 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Corn Syrup
1/2 Cup Honey
1 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
1TBS Low Sodium Soy Sauce
1/2 Cup of Dry Rub
1TBS of Hot Sauce
1 TBS of Red Pepper Flakes

Heat to boil and let simmer for about 20-30 minutes stirring regularly. Let rest for 4 hours or longer before serving. Store in the fridge in a mason jar and enjoy again later.

Thats it. Don’t forget to leave a comment and tell me what you think of the sauce. What do you think of Carolina Sauce? Do you prefer sweeter?
