[Music]hey guys it’s angel welcome back to mykitchen today I got an exciting recipefor you guys we’re going to be making acha-cha barbecue pork now no trip toChinatown at least for me is without twothings the first of course is bubble teaand the second is to check out thedelicious Asian pastries and also thebarbecue pork shops and one of myfavorite things to eat is of coursechashu barbecue pork there’s thatdistinctive red color that caramelizedglaze that’s a little sweet and just thereally nice tender taste of the pork nowthis recipe only needs six simpleingredients for the marinade and onceyou make this recipe I feel like you’renever going to want to buy barbecue porkagain it’s just not going to be the sameso if you guys are interested in how tomake chashu pork at home keep watchingfor this recipe we’re gonna need onetablespoon each of honey soy sauce youcan use light soy sauce or regular soysauce 1 tablespoon of rice wine 1tablespoon of a soy sauce glaze which ismore of a thick soy sauce and if you’rewondering which type of soy sauce glazeI got I will post a link in the videodescription we’ll also need 1 teaspoonof five-spice powder and finally 1/4 cupof brown sugar and for the meat itselfI’m using about a pound to a pound and ahalf of pork but now you can also usepork tenderloin in this recipe but Ifeel like the pork butt makes it moremarbled and so you’ll get some nicepieces of fat making it more juicy andtender now earlier I used a piercingmeat tenderizer on the pork which isgoing to make our pork more tender andable to absorb the marinade better andonce you’re done tenderizing the porkand measuring out all your ingredientsI’m going to put everything into thisnice plastic baggieafter you’re done combining all theingredients and ensuring it’s evenlymixed within the bag store the pork inthe refrigerator to marinate overnight and so we don’t have to wait I’vealready pre-made a batch that we can usenow to cook we’ll start by preheating anoven to 375 to 400 degrees then placethe pork on a baking sheet lined withaluminum foil set your timer to bake for10 minutes and in the meantime let’sthicken the sauce in a saucepan pour theremaining marinade from the bag and tothat I’m going to add another twotablespoons of honey and guys it’stotally okay to eyeball it here if youfeel comfortable because this recipe ispretty forgiving next stir and let thatsauce simmer and thicken for three tofive minutes once that’s done it shouldbe time to check in on the pork now I’mgonna add the thickened sauce to coatthe pork and flip and bake for anothereight to ten minutes or until done wejust want to make sure not to overcookbecause the meat can get tough so keepyour oven temperatures in mind whensetting the oven up for preheating onceit’s cooked transfer to a cutting boardand let the pork rest for five minutesbefore slicing into bite-size pieces andof course you can always brush on anyremaining sauce and juices from thebaking pan for some extra flavor[Music]and that guys is how you make Chavobarbecue pork as you can see it wassuper easy to make and we have thisbeautiful plate here it smells sodelicious I can’t wait to try it so I’mjust gonna do the taste test here so I’mgonna get a nice fatty piece mmmthat was amazing the meat was reallymoist and tender I had a little piece offat marbled in there which i think isdeliciousthere was the flavors of the five-spicethe honey and the soy sauce it was justperfectI’m Angelo thank you guys so much forwatching if you liked today’s videorecipe don’t forget to give me a thumbsup and if you’ve tried my recipe at homeand you like itcome post on instagram tag me oninstagram i’d love to see how yourrecipe turned out until then take careguys thank you guys for all your wellwishes in my last video and thoughts inParis I really appreciate it it reallykeeps me going and I will see you guyshopefully soon byeyou
