hey guys today we are making barbecuedchicken legs in our crock pot all havinga whole lot of fat check it out YUM okayguys welcome back to my kitchen I’mChris from recipes accom and today weare making a super simple dish in theslow cooker we’re going to make barbecuechicken legs and it couldn’t be easierall you’re gonna need is a bunch ofchicken legs I always get the big pack Ithink it’s like twelve legs there mighteven be more than that in this one and Ilike to throw it in my casserole crockyou can also use a 6 quart slow cookerto throw them all in there all we’regonna do to begin with is we’re gonnatake some Lari seasoning salt or yourpreferred seasoning salt and we aregoing to liberally sprinkle it all overthese babies and then we’re gonna add alittle bit of pepper and that’s it forthe first part of this step you don’tneed to add liquid you don’t need to addanything else to it it’s going to cookon low for 6 to 7 hours you could bumpit up to high and probably check it in 4to 5 if you would like and then whatwe’re going to do at the end is I’mgoing to show you a broiling step thatwe do in our oven where we use barbecuesauce now if you’re a low carb and youdon’t have a favorite low carb barbecuesauce then what I would suggest is youcan use our low carb barbecue sauce sowhile this is cooking you could make upa batch of our low carb barbecue saucewhich I will link down below and thenthat way you can make this easily lowcarb for you as well for me today I amtrying a new barbecue sauce I haven’ttried before so I’m I’m gonna give it atry because my friend gifted it to meover the weekend and I’m like dude I’mgonna be making barbecue chicken legsthis is perfect and so I’m gonna give ita try to see how I like it if you’re notlow-carb just pick your favorite one ofour favorites prior to going little carwas sweet baby Ray’s so that would be myrecommendation if you’re going to dothat but what we’re gonna do is we’regonna let this cook on lowfor six to seven hours and we’ll see youback here in three two oneand we are back I’m gonna apologizeahead of time if you hear the dogsshuffling at my feet they have notgotten the attention they deserve todayso they are very much wanting to playbut I’ve got to finish the chicken andMikey and addy are at karateso if they’re gonna be playing at myfeet right now and hopefully they arehappy about that but it has been sixhours on low and I was a little like ohthis is a new to me slow cooker I havehad casserole crocks in the past but Iwanted to double check it and I wantedto give you guys the tip if you’re everjust concerned that something might notbe done like you or you just want todouble check your work and eatthermometer is such a handy tool to helpyou kind of know and it also will helpyou know a little bit more about thetexture of your dish so for example Ibelieve I don’t think it says on here Ibelieve chicken is supposed to cook to165 I’m fairly certain computer what doyou cook chicken to internal temperaturethis might answer your question chickenis considered safe to eat when it hasreached an internal temperature of 165degrees Fahrenheit okay yes thank youokay so 165 degrees typically I likeespecially when we’re on the grill tocook at least to 170 for a texturestandpoint and in the slow cooker youcan even cook further than that andit’ll make it even more tender and thechicken I’ll start to fall apart but sowe are well above 165 I think some of itI checked was that 180 and some was evenat 200 so it’s time to do the next stepyou don’t have to do this step if youdon’t want to you don’t have to use youroven broiler if you have a foodie youcould or an air fryer you could crisp upthe skin if you want to in your foodyour air fryer or if you’re not a slopeher skin fan you could also easilyscrape the skin off the chicken legs andput the barbecue sauce on afterwardsit’s completely up to you when you are alow-fat family I would do that I wouldscrape the skin off the chicken put thebarbecue sauce in and then put it in thebroiler to kind of caramelize thatbarbecue sauce but now that we’re alow-carb family we do low carb high fatand so I leave that skin on and let itcrisp up so that’s what we’re gonna dothis time all we’re gonna do is take alined cookie sheet and then take all ofour chicken legs out of here now thoseof you that were concerned when wedidn’t put any liquid in this slowcooker I want you to look at how muchliquid is in there now at home I canshow you after I get done I’m puttingall the chicken legs on here thesechicken these chicken legs have cookedso many juices out it is like amazinghow much juice it produce and we didn’tadd any water to this so I like to dothat because it has intense flavor umwhen you don’t water it down unless youneed to for a reason in the dish and inthis particular dish we did not have areason to add any liquid so I’m gonnajust go ahead and get all these chickenlegs out what we’re going to do is Ihave my broiler on my broiler just setitself at 550 degrees um you can useyour broiler how you choose to use itthe one thing I will tell you no matterwhat your broiler settings are is you donot want to leave this because you donot want to smoke up the house thingscook a lot hotter in the boiler in theoven I’m gonna take your barbecue sauceI believe the recipe on lines that ourrecipe says the cup and a half butreally it’s to your taste what we’regoing to do is we’re going to smotherall of this with barbecue sauceone side royal it then flip it after itcursed up for a few minutes and do theother side and then we’ll have barbecuechicken so that’s all we’re gonna doMike you’ll probably speed this part upon yes[Music]all right so I’ve got everything withbarbecue sauce on it on the top oopsnot trying to slide it if you can seegot all my chicken with a coat ofbarbecue sauce we’re going to probablylet this go to three minutes and andwatching it very closely and then onceit looks like it’s crisping up thenwe’re gonna turn it over and do the samestep again all rightcomputers set a timer for two minutes[Music]computer stop okay I think it’s time forus to turn our chicken legs they lookpretty good to me let me try and getthem out and not burn myself here I’mgonna bring you over here so you can seethischeck that outdoes that not look incredible alright sowe’re gonna just flip them now I’ll putyou back in place okay alright so nowwe’re gonna flip everything and do itall over again I know this might seemlike some steps to take but it really issuper simple for something that is soincredible I mean when I think aboutbarbeque chicken on the grillhonestly barbecue chicken on the grillis kind of a pain and this gives yousuch a more tender result with the samekind of yummy flavor so I this is theway we do it like we’re having folksover this is what we did we totally makeit in the crock pot to make it supertender and then we then we do thebroiler step and it just caramelize –esand makes this so yummy crisps up thatskin I mean they’re not always theprettiest but I’m telling you you don’tlose half the chicken like if you getyour chicken tender enough on the grilla lot of times it like sticks and itfalls apart I mean there’s a way to doit don’t get me wrong but for me this isjust so simple and it gives you theperfect resultssorry Ollie’s shake it off shake it offit gives you the perfect result withouthaving to you know pay really superclose attention to everything except forthe very end you do need to payattention when you’re boiling so youdon’t burn thingsI’m gonna have to try this thisparticular recipe in my foodie and dothe boiling step but okay so I’m gonnapop this back in the oven for anothertwo minutes two minutes seems to beexactly what it needed I’m gonna popthis in for another two minutes andwe’ll be backholy cow my pantry door just openedy’all that scared the crap out of me itwas the cat okay alrighty I think we’reback and I hope we’re recording I’mgonna do the
