Smoked PORK CHOPS Wrapped In BACON

Decided to try something I hadnt done before. Smoked pork chops wrapped in bacon. I was going to make pork chops anyway, so decided to make a video on it and wrap some in bacon to see how they turn out.

hey everybody and welcome back to theFox Shop barbecue and if you don’t knowwhat the Fox shop is this is the Foxshop that is the name of my otherYouTube channelthe Fox shop and it is primarily up in the house and I wasgonna make some pork chops and then Igot to thinking I might as well make avideo on this so I’m gonna smoke somepork chops wrapped in bacon so let meget things set up here and we’ll get tocooking all right so what I have here isI’ve got 10 pork chops they’re not realbig chops they are like 5 to 6 ounceseach but I got 10 of them so that shouldbe enough I got a pound of bacon andwhat I’m gonna do I don’t know if I haveenough bacon to wrap them all I’m notgonna put any seasoning on at all I’mjust gonna get the the pork chops outwrap them in some bacon put them on therack get them on the smoker smoker setit to 75 it’s heating up right now andwe’ll see how these turn out never donethis beforeand I hope I don’t make too big of amess down here don’t have a sink oranything down here so I always weargloves onkind of meet you have opened up thebacon opened up and we’ll see how big ofa mess we can make down here I need abigger table I need some kind of a preptable but here are the pork chops that’swhat they are right they’re not real bigbut like I said I got ten of them andwhat we’re gonna doit’ll take some of this bacon I thoughtit sounded good I’ve never done thisbefore but I thought it sounded good solet’s lay that out we’ll put a pork chopon there backless Leewrap this up on top yeah I got too muchstuff in the way here we’re gonna wrapthis up like thatprobably put one on the end herethere we go just like that and then tohold that I brought some toothpicks downprobably actually break these in halfand we are just going to go down throughthe bacon like that to hold it in placeso it doesn’t come undone while we’recooking and then that’s what we have nowit’s not it’s not all covered in baconbut it’s it’s got bacon on it so I’mgonna wrap up a few more of these Idon’t think I have enough bacon do themall and the ones that I don’t have baconforward is gonna throw on the smoker andI’m sure you’ll turn out fine all rightpretty easy to do but here’s what I’vegot going on I’ve got four of them thathave three three strips of bacon wrappedaround them these two were fairly smallso I put them on there on that rack andthen I’ve got four over here on thisrack and now you go check thetemperature on the smoker it’s probablyup to ten if I put some Applewood onthere that’s what I’m using today withpork I might throw a little Hickory onthere as well we’re at 273 we’re readyto get those suckers on there so I amgoing to get both racks of those on thesmoker and I’m not sure but I think itshould take I really don’t know hourprobably more than an hour probablyprobably gonna be an hour and a half toget these done but I’m thinking thisought to be pretty darn good we got twotwo pork products I mean pork chop andwho the heck doesn’t like bacon and Isuppose you could always just pull thebacon off but making something here thatdon’t have any bacon on them as well sowe’ll see how this turns out and I don’tknow if I mentioned it or not but 10 ofthose pork chops 8 dollars and 80 centsone person can’t hardly go to McDonald’sand eat for thatand I guarantee you this is gonna tastea whole lot better than McDonald’s2:29 I’m gonna open this up though andyep got him in there and once it’s baconon around the bottom rack towards theback there but I mean you get this shutback up keep the heat in there and we’llcheck on our here in just a little bitthe the smoker that I’m using is amaster builtsportsman elite electric smoker you gotthat last year really like the darnthing if you’re just getting intosmoking I I would suggest gettingsomething like that it holds itstemperature real well does a really goodjob not real expensive and I will I willlink that down below I’m not sure ifthey still make that model or not but Iknow there’s one that it looks identicalto it so I’ll I’ll link that down belowin the description for you so any of myguys in about an hour will will go outthere and take a peek at it see howwe’re looking well I think it’s beenabout an hour and fifteen minutes Idon’t have my I don’t have my fancythermometer here it’s got a little oldreliable here see see if we can figureout what temperature we’re up to here Ithink they’re probably done get thatopened up see if we can get them stuckin somewhere here yeah see there’s a bigone right there I can’t get stuck invery far here with one hand and out thisguywell this one’s even smaller than thatoneand if we’re gonna reach 165 or not gota little bit longer to go a little bitlonger maybe maybe 20 minutes or soreally wanted to see how these thingsturn out and take one up the kid she’sI’ll get you back here a little bit wellheck I was thinking chicken not porkpork doesn’t need to be cooked up quiteas high as chicken so we’re done outhere so I’m gonna go bring those in getthem in here I’m gonna just unload themon here onto this cookie sheet here andwe’ll see what we have all right guysI’m not sure if you can see me here ornot but I pulled these off the grill weare done I cut into one that doesn’thave bacon on it and yeah it’s donebacon doesn’t look quite as done as Iwish it would I’m gonna I’m gonna cut itin one of these here and see what wehave the pork chops definitely done wegot some bacon on there I might try thispretty darn good you could probably letit go a while longer get this bacon morecrispy but at the moment I’m very hungryso we’re gonna eat so as you can seeright there I mean the pork chop is donethe bacon it could use a little bit moreso you could probably run it on there alittle bit longer but these other porkchops are done taste really really goodI don’t think my daughter is going tolike it with the with the flimsy baconon there like it is but you’ve got somethere that don’t have bacon on them sohopefully she’ll like those so that’sreally all there is to it just somesimple little pork chops wrap him up inbacon throw them onsmoker to 75 took about an hour and ahalf and and that’s what we have tastespretty darn good I know my daughter’shungry so I’m gonna I’m gonna take theseup the house she can at least have oneor two that don’t have the bacon on themanyway guys we’re trying here it’s ait’s the Fox shop barbecue where we doall the cooking down here in the shop wearen’t some professional barbecue pitboss type of competition smoke oranything like that we’re just tryingstuff and having fun so alright so Iactually put an ending on this videobefore I’m filming this right now but Itook those up to the house and and gavehim to my daughter I didn’t give her onewith the bacon on it to be honest withyait tasted good but the bacon wasn’tcrispy at all it was it was prettypretty pretty not crispy and maybe if wewould have gone another half hour or soit would turned out better the porkchops were done so that’s why I took himoff the grill she liked the pork chopsalthough she says they’re not as good aswings or or legs so I don’t know Ithought they tasted great but thoughtI’d give you that a little
