Hi everybody (Sawasdee ka)Welcome to Klua baan Ruer (houseboat thai kitchen) The weather is great so you guys might have a plan for BBQ this weekso I think the perfect sauce for this is ” Nam Jim Jew” (Thai BBQ sauce)which goes well with any kind of BBQas you can see I’m now outside on our raft. It’s a very nice and chill atmosphere hereOk, let’s see how to make it Ingredients:Fish sauce = 3 tablespoons Seasoning soy sauce = 2 tablespoonsThey are not using this in the original recipe. But I’d like to use this to reduce the smell of the fish sauceso you can only use the fish sauce if you don’t have the seasoning soy sauce.then you should add 2 tablespoons of Fish sauce extra in that case Next one is Tamarind paste = 3 tablespoonsLime juice = 2 tablespoonsRoasted ground rice = 2 tablespoonsSpring onion = 10g. Mint = 5 leavesJust skip it if you don’t like Coriander = 10g.If you have the Sawtooth Coriander then use that.(The smell would be nicer but it’s difficult for me to get it here today)Shallotor Red onion = 30g. are there any tricks on how to cut vegetables? actually yes.My trick is let the husband do that for you :Pok, these are our special ingredientsThai Chili powder = 1 or 2 tablespoonsIf you can roast and grind them yourself that would tastier than then one in the supermarketMy mom made this for me when I went back to Thailand last timeanother important ingredient today isCoconut sugar = 40g.This would make our sauce tastyThis is the 100% coconut sugar that I also bought from Thailandyou can see it’s very easy to break themcompare to the coconut sugar that you can buy at the shop and marketthose actually mixed with the sugar from the sugarcaneIn case you don’t have the coconut sugaryou can also use the brown sugar insteadBut you should use less amount as normal sugar has a sweeter tasteOk, let’s start!add all liquid ingredients in the bowlFish sauce,Seasoning soy sauceTamarind pasteLime juicethen the coconut sugarMix them well togetherOh, I just saw the fish jumpingthere are a lot of fish in the canal heresometimes, I saw a really big onewhat about the crocodile? There is none herewell, but there is one water monitorHere, sitting here 😛
(water monitor / Hier เหี้ย = asshole in thai slang)haha jokingok, let’s learn some dutch wordsstart with greetingsHalloOr Hoi(Hoi can be slang in Thai which means pussy)Next one isbeautifulbeautiful is Mooi in dutch(Mooi in thai means pubic hair)and to say goodbyeDag!(Dag in thai means ass)So these are the first 3 words that I can remember haha :Pso now the sugar meltedthen taste itIf the it’s now okactually, the amount of fish sauce, lime, and tamarind you put in is not that fixedyou can add them moreif you like the sauce to be more salty or sourjust make sure the taste should lead with sour, salt, spice and a bit sweetok now I will put the Shallot,
and the rest of our ingredientsShallotSpring onionCorianderThai Chili powder then Roasted ground riceoops! almost forget the mintIf you don’t like a thick sauceyou can reduce the amount of the Roasted ground ricebut I like it with a lot of roasted ground ricethe sauce would smell very niceok, readyDone! it’s very easy you seeI gonna eat this with the grilled chickenthe food now readyLook great rightand here is the sticky riceso we can dip all of these with the sauce we just madeummm!looklet me try now would it taste with the sauceummm!Superb!Aroi! (yummy)Really amazing!you can see it’s very easyyou should try to make thisIf you have the sauce leftoveryou can also use this sauce with hot potTo keep it for later, you can first warm the sauce in the pot then put it in the refrigeratorYou can keep it almost a monthAfter today,I have a plan for the new recipeIt will be a fusion food you should check my next VDOThank you very much for watching! please subscribe to my channel 😉
