Smoked Boneless Turkey Breast on the Gateway Drum Smoker
Turkey is a staple around the Holidays so why not kick it up a notch!
***What You Need***
A couple of Whole Boneless Turkey Breast (Check out The Butcher Shoppe in Pensacola)
Your favorite BBQ Rubs
Your Favorite BBQ Sauce
The boneless turkey breast were HUGE!! I thawed them slowly in the fridge for several day. Once thawed I removed them from the package and removed the skin. These breast did not need much trimming and were basically ready to season.
For seasoning, I treated it just like I would any BBQ. A simple All Purpose Rub and follow it up with your favorite BBQ Rub. Of course The Grind is awesome on Turkey.
To bring the authentic flavors, we are cooking on our Gateway Drum Smoker. We fired it up with some Royal Oak Lump and set the temp to 300. Once the pit came up to temp, we place the breast on the rack right over the coals.
We flipped the breast about every 20 minutes in order to get a good crust on the outside. We kept a close eye on the temps and once the turkey breast hit 150 we started glazing the turkey breast with Killer Hogs Vinegar sauce. This will bring some heat and great flavors.
Once the breast hit 160, we got them off the heat and allowed them to rest for about 15 minutes.
These whole breast turned great and are so easy to cook and serve. This makes a great main dish to really spice things up at your dinner table.
Thank yall for watching!!
