How to cook Pork Steak ala Bistek

Step by step guide on How to cook Pork Steak ala Bistek

Ingredients:

Cooking oil
Pork Chops – 6 to 8 pcs
Red or White Onion – 2 pcs medium size, cut into rings

Soy sauce – 1 cup or 236ml
Kalamansi extract – 1/3 cup or 80ml, you can also use Lemon or Lime extract
Water – 4 cups
Ground black pepper / Pamintang durog -1 teaspoon

Procedure:

First is to tenderize Pork chops first, tenderizing Pork chops is important so that the Marinade will be absorbed by the meat thoroughly
Next is to make the Marinade

In a large bowl, add Soy sauce, Kalamansi Extract, and ground black pepper, Stir and mix well.This mixture will be our “Marinade”
Submerged tenderized Pork chops on our Marinade, then refrigerate for 1 hour
After 1 hour, drain excess Marinade on the Pork chops
This is done so that the Pork chops will not release juice while we are frying it
Add 2 cups of water on used Marinade then stir it well

Low Heat setting:

Add cooking oil in a pan, then saute’ Onion for 30 seconds
Once sauteed, set it aside

Medium heat setting:

On the same oil we used, fry Pork chops until it turns Brown in color

Low heat setting:

On a clean pan, add a bit of cooking oil we used to fry the Pork chops
Add fried Pork chops and used Marinade
Cover pan for 15 minutes
After 15 minutes, add 2 cups of water
This is to make sure that the used marinade is well boiled, and that the Pork chops will be tender and juicy once finished
Cover pan for 5 minutes
After 5 minutes, add sauteed Onion rings
Cover pan for another 5 minutes
After 5 minutes, your Pork steak ala Bistek is ready!

Serve hot and Enjoy!
