Grilled Chicken Wings Oklahoma Joe’s Pellet Grill

I was playing around with the Oklahoma Joe’s Rider DLX Pellet Grill and wanted to share the video.

I grilled up some chicken wings and was only using the primary grate. I wanted to see how direct heat grilling over pellets compared to grilling over charcoal.

Very pleased with how the wings turned out. More importantly, I had a blast grilling over the open flames. I never thought pellet grills could be this much fun!

hey gasps I’ve given the Oklahoma jokefella gorilla another mold test tonightworking on chicken wings I’ve cookedchicken wings on this guy before butI’ve cooked him on the top grade andthen when they were about ready I tookme down to the lower grade tub to searoff today I’m gonna try to do everythingon the lower great using a two zonesystem we’ve got that hot sear great fordirect heat and then the area’s off tothe side for some indirect cooler heatI’m gonna see how that works so let meget this camera turned around let’s seehow it goes okay let’s see how we can dowith some one-handed grilling here soI’ve got the pellet grill set up in searmodeset too low getting a temperature fornine for ten on the control panel he’sgonna be a whole lot hotter rightdirectly over the the seer grade[Music]definitely got some nice flames going onthere I start my wings off off on thesidedon’t want to give too much direct heatright off the batuse both sides of this big guynow we’re cooking up hooking up aboutthree pounds of wings here so there’splenty of room and you can see I tookthe top grates out of here okay the toprates in here I can do triple triplethis easy no problem so plenty of plentyof room with this guy alright that’s howI’m gonna start him out gotten off thedirect heat and let’s shut it down andsee how she does[Music]okay the wings been off about 10-15minutes I’m gonna move over the searstation I just want to hear em sizzleI’m curious what kind of flare-ups aregoing to get if any move these windsover direct Heata little bit of grill mark sitting overhere with that[Music]how badare we gonna be able to grill overthe direct flamewas there Colin low heatwithout clearing these guys up burningyour skin’s so far so goodthere’s a little flare-upyeah there’d be a lot more fun all rightthe only minuteyeah we definitely got some clearerproblems here mix Crillon up eat itwith this guythis is so close to grill on a charcoalgrill is crazy I never thought I’d beable to do this with a pellet grilland I got a little crispy and I’ll dobetter next timebut hey that’s what practice is allabout rightlet’s see how we’re doing herenice looking wingsI’ve noticed a front section of the thecats aren’t great here little bit coolerin the center in the backs of the onesthat had a little bit of char on them Ijust went ahead moved up to the frontlittle lip here slows them down a littlebit yeah sure is an issue cooker havingfun learning this guy alright I’ll keepthis lid clean close these wings willnever cookoh yeahgetting some real nice color these guysyeah bubble baby bubblea lot of happy with these wingsall right time to get these guys in thesauce back on the pit they’re gonna bedone real all right one last look foryou in hereall these are nice-looking wings it’sgot some sauce stuff they’ve been on forabout 10 minutes after get the sauceit’s uh I’m losing daylight it’s time toeat I’m gonna go in and shut down he’sgonna be deliciousbottom line takeaway cook on this thinglike a charcoal grill it’s about thesame thing it’s a blastreally really glad I did it tonight niceway it’s been an eveningthanks for watching hope you having agreat day check the link below likealways be awesome real happy
