Today I’m going to show you a very simple comfort food that is slowly-braised in sweet and savory BBQ sauce. Yup, that’s it. It’s the Slow-cooked BBQ Pork Ribs. This is another excellent example of how “time” acts as the best ingredients. You simply put everything into the pot and cook them low & slow until the flavour deepens and resulting in a wonderfully tasting meal. Some people suggested that “Slow-cooking” dates back to ancient “Peasant food” where poor farmers could only cook with very few ingredients and they discovered that prolonged cooking just makes everything taste better.
Although I would like to make my own BBQ sauce but due to difficulties in obtaining ingredients during this COVID-19 MCO lockdown, I used a store-bought BBQ sauce. You could modify your sauce with other ingredients too, some dried herbs perhaps? Few dashes of tabasco maybe? Some dijon mustard works great too! This is where you get creative & build up flavours. By the way, this recipe works great with a slow-cooker too.
