GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST RECIPE
2 chicken breasts
1 tablespoon avocado oil
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup bbq sauce, optional
Instructions
Prepare the grill. Clean the grates and set to a medium high heat. You want the temperature somewhere between 400-450 Farenheit.
Place chicken breast between two pieces of wax paper and pound with a meat mallet until the chicken has a uniform thickness all around. This will help the chicken to cook more evenly.
Brush both side of the chicken with avocado oil.
Season generously with salt and pepper. Be sure to get both sides.
Place the chicken smooth side down on the grill and close the lid. Cook for three minutes and then rotate the chicken 90 degrees for an additional minute (this will create cross-hatch grill marks).
Flip the chicken and cook for an additional three or four minutes. If you want to brush some bbq sauce on the chicken, so that now.
Flip the chicken one last time to add additional bbq sauce if desired.
Serve and enjoy!
NOTES
Don’t have a meat mallet? No problem. You can use a heavy bottle, a rolling pin or even a can of soup.
You can use any type of sauce or marinade you prefer. It’s an easy way to add extra flavor without marinading the chicken.
This chicken is also delicious plain, no sauce needed. I love making it plain and keeping it on hand for salads, sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, etc.

hello my friends its Danny and today I’mshowing you how to make a grilledchicken breast without drying it out Iwill share all of my tips and tricks sothat you can grill your chicken withouta marinade and still create a reallyjuicy moist delicious chicken breastthat would be great on its own and alsoperfect for meal prep so the first thingI like to do is get my chicken out ofthe refrigerator and let it sit at roomtemperature for 20 to 30 minutes beforeI get it on the grill this way it comesdown to room temperature which is gonnahelp it cook more evenly as for qualityI always look for local and/or organicchicken and that’s what I recommend butas always you simply want to make thebest choice that’s available to you nowbecause I know many of you are gonna askpersonally I do not wash chicken beforeI work with it I find that that createsmore opportunity for cross-contaminationand if there is any type of bacteria onthe chicken it will get killed off onceit hits the high heat that we’re goingto be cooking the chicken however you dowant to make sure that you’re washingyour hands throughout the processwhenever you’re working with raw chickennow the next step is probably the mostimportant step to having the chickencook evenly and be nice and juicy it’sthat you want the chicken breasts to bethe same thickness around the entirebreast so normally when you take achicken breast out it’s really thick onone side and really thin down on theother side and that’s gonna createuneven cooking which means the thin sideis gonna get very overcooked the thickside could possibly be undercooked sowhat I like to do is lay out a piece ofwax paper you could also do this plasticwrap then I place the chicken breast ontop with another piece of wax paper andthen using a meat mallet I’m just goingto hit down and out on the thicker partsof the chicken now you don’t want tojust go straight up and down you want tofind those thicker areas and then againit’s down and out it’s like a littlepush forward and what we’re trying to dois get all of those thicker parts of thechicken flattened out so that the breastis nice and even it doesn’t reallymatter how thick or thin you make itwhat matters is that it’s fairly evenall the way acrosspersonally I prefer it to be a littlebit thinner but if you like a really fatjuicy chicken breast then you wouldbe a little bit thicker personalpreference side note if you do not havea meat mallet you could do this with anytype of heavy bottle you could do itwith a rolling pin even a can of soupfrom here I like to transfer the chickenbreasts onto a rimmed baking sheet Ilove using these baking sheets becausethey make it very convenient also tocarry the chicken from the kitchenoutside to the grill I also like toseason the chicken breasts right on therim baking sheet as well so what I do isI brush a little bit of avocado oil oneach chicken breast and then i seasongenerously with salt and pepper and I’mgonna do this on both sides of thechicken now this is all you need youdon’t need to marinate the chicken andyou don’t need anything else to create areally flavorful delicious chickenbreast but just to give an optionI am also gonna bring some barbecuesauce out to the grill as well to showyou how you can easily brush on a littleextra flavor right at the end of cookingwithout needing to marinate the chickenfor hours so I’ve got the grill at amedium-high heat you want thetemperature to read somewhere between400 and 450 degrees Fahrenheit and thento prep my grill all I did was brush thegrates with this grill brush that helpsto clean them off and make sure thatnothing sticks and I rubbed them downwith a little bit more of that avocadooil and I do this just by taking a Tongand dipping a paper towel into the oiland then gently rubbing it over thegratesso we’re ready for the chicken so I liketo place the chicken down the smoothside of the chicken first and I do thatbecause that’s the side that we’reusually going to present with so thisway it goes on the clean grates and it’sgonna look the best shut the grill letit go for about four minutes the chickenis gonna take a total of 8 to 10 minutesdepending on how thick it is so if it’sthinner like mine you want to start atabout 4 minutes after 3 minutes I liketo open the grill rotate the chicken 90degrees and this is gonna help us getthose fancy grill marks so then I justclose it and let it go for that extraminute you’re gonna see that it beginsto turn opaque around the sides andcoming up the chicken that’s how youknow that it’s ready to flip and itshould release from the grill veryeasily if it feels like it’s sticking itmight need a little extra time so I’mgonna flip these over and let it go foranotherfour minutes on the opposite side now ifyou didn’t want to add any extra flavorjust shut the grill and let it cook butI wanted to show you guys how you couldadd flavor without marinating thechicken so at this point what I like todo is just brush a little bit ofbarbecue sauceright over the top of the chicken rightwhile it’s on the grill you’re justgonna get a nice thick layer of barbecuesauce on there and that’s gonna kind ofsear into the chicken while it’s cookingit’s been about three minutes so I liketo flip the chicken one more time hereand let that extra minute finish where Ican get a little extra barbecue sauce onthe opposite side if you were not addingany type of sauce at the end youwouldn’t need to do this extra flip youwould just let it finish off but if youwanted to add some type of sauce likeI’m doing here just flip it a minuteearly so you can get that flavor on bothsides now to ensure that the chicken iscooked throughwe want our chicken out 165 degrees butwhen it comes to a chicken breast likethis what I usually do is I just take aknife right at the grill to a littleslit at the edge of the chicken if itlooks opaque and nice and juicy I knowit’s done so this chicken is done it isready to go once I have the chickeninside I just let it rest for a coupleof minutes and then I like to cut itinto slices you can see that it’s niceand moist and juicy that barbecue saucehas a little extra flavor and then thiswill be delicious ready to eat as it isor but I really like to do and I do veryoften is I will transfer this into anairtight container save this reallygreat Head Start ingredient that youcould add to salads to sandwiches towraps to quesadillas in the fridge readyto go so my dear friends that is how yougrill a chicken breast and keep itreally moist and juicy and flavorful Iam as always super excited for you togive this technique a try and when youdo snap a picture and tag me onInstagram and Facebook so I can see allthe clean and deliciousness that you’rewhipping up in your
