WHAT’S FOR DINNER | CROCKPOT CHICKEN & DUMPLINGS, PERFECT BBQ PORK CHOPS AND MORE | Melissa Freeman

Welcome back to another What’s for dinner video! Today I am going to show you 3 easy and affordable meals to put together for your family!

The perfect bbq pork chops:
350 degrees
Season pork chops and bake for 20m
1/4 bottle of bbq sauce on one side and bake for 10m
Flip pork chops and bbq again with 1/4 bottle bake another 10m

Diced Potatoes:
18m total

Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings;
2lb chicken beast
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 onion
Parsley
Black pepper
1 glove garlic
3 cups chicken broth
1 pack 8 biscuits

welcome back to it another what’s fordinner this week I’m going to be showingyou three easy meals and for this dayI’m going to be making the perfectbarbecue pork chops they’re superdelicious so I went ahead and turned myoven on to 350 and let that bepreheating and I’m gonna go work on mypotatoes now if you’ve been here andyou’ve seen any of my other videos Ihave put potatoes in a lot of my videosbut today I’m gonna make themdifferently this is like 101 ways tomake potatoes with Melissa this could bea whole Channel but I’m just going to goahead and peel my potatoes and then dicethem up into really small pieces reasonfor dicing these up so small is that Iwant them to cook fastthe smaller the potato the faster it isgoing to cooknow that my oven is preheated to 350 I’mgonna go ahead and put my pork chopsinto my dish I’m gonna put mine in anine by something you don’t know whatthis is I can’t think of the size it isgone by thirteen Melissa but I’m justgonna go ahead and season my pork chopsyou season them with whatever you wantyou can do a poultry rub that works bestbut I don’t have any on hand so I’m justdoing some seasoned salt onion andgarlic and we’re gonna season those andwe’re gonna put those in the oven for 20minutes this is not all that we’re goingto do to them but you need to cook themfor 20 minutes just like this I forgotto mention that I’m also adding pepperto these but like I said you addwhatever seasoning you want whateverflavor you like to your pork chop sowe’re gonna put these in for 20 minutesthen we’re going to get back out anddivert them up with some barbecue saucewhile those pork chops are in the ovencooking up for the first 20 minutes I’mgonna move on and put my potatoes in adish that is microwave safe that’s rightwe’re gonna put these in the microwaveso I’m just going to salt and pepperthese and I’m going to put a bunch oflittle pads of butter all over it whilemine aren’t really pads I’m just puttingblobs of butter pretty much but you canalso put oil in this if you don’t wantto use butter just something that thepotatoes can soak up and it will youknow there won’t be dry when you getthem out but we are actually gonna cookthese in the microwave it’s super quickand easy and they are delicious theytaste like fried potatoes but you don’thave to take all of that time to frythem my Nana used to make this for me asa snack when I was a kid and I loved itand so does my whole family it’s so goodif you want to flavor them with likesome garlic or like and spice them upanything they’re super super good I putthose in the microwave actually for atotal of 18 minutes any recipes anyingredients anything like that will bedown below in the description so alwayscheck there so I got the pork chops outafter 20 minutes and now we’re gonnasmother them with fourth of a bottleof barbecue sauce I’m using like babyRay’s some kind of barbecue sauce butuse whatever kind you want I’m justgonna spread this over the pork chopsevenly on one side only and they’regonna pop these back in for 10 minutesand I’m gonna put these in like I saidfor 18 minutes now depending on how manypotatoes you actually chop if you’re notmaking that many you all have to cook itthat long but either way only put it ona shorter amount of time to start withthat way you can stir them around beforestarting your microwave up again so Igot the pork chops out we’re going toput another fourth of the bottle on theother side of the pork chops and justsmooth that over evenly and we’re gonnacook this for another 10 minutes andthen they’re going to be ready and toadd another vegetable to this mealtonight I’m doing some baby Brusselssprouts this is a steamed in bag you cansteam this bag in the microwave which iswhat I’ve done I think steaming plasticbags and the microwave is probably not agood idea when it comes to food but Idid it because I’m trying to be fasttoday okay so I’m just seasoning up mylittle baby Brussels once they come outof the microwaveI am seasoning them with butter and somegarlic powder and that is what’s fordinner tonightpork chops amazing potatoes amazing andif you like Brussels sprouts these arepretty good too so moving on to the nextnight this night we actually had steakand chicken kabobs with a bunch ofvegetables that I chopped up freshvegetables so delicious so I’m justgoing to show you guys how I put mykabobs together and then we’re gonna goactually grill these up you can do thesein the oven they’re not going to be asgood as if you grill them I’m seasoningmy meat with some soul food tonight soulfood and then some pepper and then we’regonna stick these bad boys on a stickand put them on the grilllook at all these fresh vegetablesy’all’s so good so I did red pepperonion and a zucchinigrilled zucchini is delicious it givesus some kind of like sweet flavor Idon’t know how but it’s so good but youcan add anything you want to these likethe cherry tomatoes like you can doshrimp also like any kind of vegetablethat will stick on the skewers orwhatever you call these kabob things putit on there grill them so so good andyou can see here that I had extrazucchini so I just went ahead and putthem all on one of the skewers because Iwant a grilled I want to use them all Idon’t want anything to go to waste sonow we’re gonna take them outside andWesley is gonna show us how he grillsthese up y’all so he’s gonna spray hisgrill I’ll lay these on there and thenhe does add some Worcestershire which Icall W sauce to the parts with steak onthemand here they are all nice and cookedand delicious I put a toss salad withthis and some Italian bread that Ibuttered and put in the oven to get it anice little crispy crunch y’all this wasone of the best dinners we’ve had in awhile these kabobs worked it out for usthough just putting a little salad withit and rockin on next I’m going to showyou guys how to make chicken anddumplings in your crock-pot and this issomething like one of those dump and gothings it’s like super easy throweverything in let it cook while you’reaway and it’s so good so I’m just addingyou’re gonna need 2 pounds of chickenbreasts or thighs a teaspoon of parsleyI’m adding in 3 cups of chicken brothright now again if you miss anything allof the ingredients and everything thatyou need will be down below in thedescription now I’m just going to addtwo cans of cream of chicken soup andthen you’re going to want to give it astir and make sure all of that’s brokendown there already like big chunks andI’ve also adding one well this is likeprobably 3/4 of an onion it’s what Ihave left over from dinner the nightbefore and then you’re just gonna alsoadd some black pepper and then you’regonna let this cook on high for aboutthree-and-a-half to four hoursnow for the actual dumplings we’re gonnacheat tonight in use canned biscuits butyou can do homemade dumplings roll themout all of that stuff but I’m gonna usecanned biscuits tonight so if you do usecanvas but you’re gonna want to mashthem down super flat as flat as youpossibly can because they’re going toget thick as they cook so mash all ofthese out as thick as you can and thenyou’re going to break them down intosmall piecesonce the three and a half hours is up Itake the chicken out and put it on aplate to shred it because it’s easierfor me to do it that way you can justshred it while it’s in the pot but youcan’t really see it because this liquidis not clear so I take it out put it ona plate and shred it up then put it backin there and now to add the dumplingsyou just lay them on top do not stickthem down into your broth becausethey’re not gonna cook right that waymake sure you’re laying them all acrossthe top once you have that in you’regonna cook that for an additional hourit’s still on high and then it’s readyso it’s about a four four and a halfhour total to get this meal and this iswhat it looks like I’m gonna put it inmy bowl because I’m getting ready to eatit and that’s what’s for dinner
