MARINATED GRILLED CHICKEN BREASTS
CHICKEN MARINADE RECIPE
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup soy
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tbsp ground ginger
1 tbsp pecan liquid smoke
1 tbsp scotch or bourbon
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and reserve a little bit to use later on the chicken as it cooks. Place the chicken breasts in a ziploc bag or nonreactive bowl and pour the marinade in, being sure to completely cover the chicken. Place the ziploc bag or dish with the marinated chicken in the fridge and let sit over night.
On the day of cooking, fire up your gas grill so it can reach a temp between 450-500 degrees. While the grill is heating up, remove the chicken breasts from the marinade and pat them dry.
When the grill is ready, place the chicken breasts on the grill, brush with some of the reserve marinade and shake on a bit of your favorite seasoning. Flip the chicken every 5 minutes, brushing with the reserved marinade and checking the temp of the chicken, until internal temp of the breasts reach 165 degrees. Approx 10-15 minutes.

[Music]hey y’all welcome to another episode ofbarlow barbecue it’s real good to seeyoutoday we’re coming to you from sunnySouthwest Florida we’re staying at acondo down here and the only thing thatwe have to grill on do any kind ofbarbecue is gas grills so that’s whatwe’re gonna use today we’ve got a reallyeasy and delicious grilled chickenbreast recipe for you and we’ve got areally nice marinade that’s got somebalsamic vinegar some ginger and alittle splash of bourbon and since we’reusing a gas grill this recipe is gonnabe really quick because if you’re usinggas it’s got to be fast so stick aroundand let’s get started here at Barlowebarbecue we don’t use gas grills veryoften but in our experience we’ve foundthat if you want a good sear onsomething like chicken steaks or fishyou gotta get going real hot so that’swhat I’m gonna do I’m gonna light twoburners and let this grill get up to 450degrees even 500 degrees so while we’rewaiting for this to come up to templet’s head over to Martha and she’sgonna show you how to put together themarinade we used on this chicken[Music]we’re making a super easy simplemarinade todayno slicing or dicing required we’restarting off with some olive oil a heftyamount of balsamic vinegar soy sauce ofcourse we got some bourbon in here agood amount of powdered ginger and we’regonna use pecan liquid smoke I know Iknow but there’s no real smoke happeningso we’re using this and we’re gonna puta little bit of side so we can brush iton our chicken later during cooking nowyou’re just gonna put your chickenbreasts and a ziploc bag and pour thatmarinade over top and let it hang out inthe fridge overnight oh and what do youknow here it is no we’re just gonnadrain this out pat it dry put a littleMontreal steak seasoning on it throw iton that hot grill folks we got a grilledtype of 450 degrees I think it’s time togrill this chicken but first I want tobrush on some olive oils so ourmarinated chicken doesn’t stick to thegrill[Music]we’re gonna add a dash of our secretingredient some of this rendezvousfamous seasoning right here[Music]alright I’m gonna set a timer for fiveminutesthen we’ll come back flip them and we’lltake a temp we’re gonna cook thesechicken breasts until they hit aninternal temp of 165 degrees so fiveminutes is just enough time to take afew sips off of beverage so cheers y’allI’ll see ya in just a little bit okayit’s been five minutes it’s time to flipthese chicken breasts I’m also gonnacheck the temp and when I flip them I’mgonna brush them with a little bit ofthat marinade and Shake on a little bitmore of that rendezvous seasoning I gotmy handy-dandy digital probe thermometerhere and I’m gonna check the temp onthis chicken 135 153 trying to spotthere 136 that’s more like it these arealmost done so I think they just needanother 5 minutes and they’re good to go[Music]our timer for 5 minutes just went off soit’s time to check out the chicken nowwe’re gonna go ahead and flip these andthen we’re gonna brush on some more ofthat reserved marinade all right let’sclose the lid and give these anotherfive minutes our timer for five minutesjust went off so let’s go ahead and flipthe chickenall right let’s see where these chickenbreasts are at almost there 160 thatone’s definitely done there we canremove this one for sure let’s tryanother taste in thereyou know by the time we pull this oneoff it’ll be done let’s go ahead and getboth them off the grill[Music][Laughter]alright y’all let’s slice into thischicken and see how looks[Music]I’m really looking forward to tryingthis likeusing Hickory cuz it makes everythingtaste like hot dogs there you go so tryout the pecan instead but if you likehot dogs have at it right the ginger isa nice touch I feel that coming through- that’s real good you know what’sreally warming my soul what’s up Daverendezvousoh the Dave’s rendezvous seasoning thatwe added on there yepand that is a condo exclusive down herein Southwest Florida we found it in thedrawer that’s why the girls are set upMartha found some seasoning who knowshow long it’s been here for but anywaysthe chicken is real real good and Iain’t nothing wrong with a little
