Ohhey everybody this is Robert fromAmerican woodsmen and survival I hopeyou’re having an awesome week andwelcome to the channel so this week I’mgoing to do another cooking video andwe’re gonna do something over the grillthat’s one of my favorite recipes andit’s a snack food and it’s a healthysnack food and it’s something that youcan take with you wherever you go nomatter where you work you can take itwith you and it’s called beef jerkynow beef jerky has exploded over thelast few years and there are placeseverywhere that are selling beef jerkyand it’s really expensiveI mean you end up getting like an 8ounce pouch of beef jerky and it’ll costyou like 5 or 6 bucks I mean it’s justhigh so I love beef jerky I take it withme whenever I’m at work because I’malways on the road all the time so itgives me an opportunity to carry my foodwith me carry my lunch with me andeverything and I don’t have to stop andbeef jerky is probably one of the mosthealthy snacks that you can eat andthere are a lot of variations to thisrecipe that you can use today I’m goingto show you the recipe that I use tomake beef jerky so let’s go ahead andlet’s get grillingall right so one of the first thingswe’re gonna do is we’re gonna go aheadand we’re gonna make our marinade andI’m gonna show you how to do that realquick we’ve got a handful of ingredientshere and we’re gonna go ahead and mixthem together so what I’ve got here isI’ve got one teaspoon of onion salt thenI’ve got one teaspoon of garlic salt andthen here I’ve got two tablespoonsactually one tablespoon of brown sugarand then I’ve got two tablespoons ofWorcestershire sauceand then I’ve got one-and-a-halfteaspoons of black pepper and then I’vegot one teaspoon of liquid smoke nowthis will give it a really awesome smokyflavor to it and I’ll explain a littlebit more about that when we get ready toput our meat on the grill it’s just anawesome flavor and I think it reallyadds another dimension of flavor to yourbeef jerky and what I have here is Ihave 1/3 a cup of soy sauce and you canuse any type of soy sauce you want thisone right here I think is low-sodiumwhich is pretty good and then of courseI’ve got the kicker this is the oneingredient that I truly think thatraises the level of this recipe I have aquarter cup of coffee here that I’mgonna add and this right here I think isjust it adds so much flavor to your beefjerky and it really truly gives it a awhole new a whole new level of flavor toit so and if you do it when it’s freshlybrewed that’s even better if you can getit while it’s still hot it’s awesomeokay so what I’ve got here is I’ve gotsome real thin top around and the onething you want to do when selecting yourmeat to make beef jerky with is you wantto get meat that has the least amount offat in ittop around is probably one of theleanest cuts of the cow and it’sprobably one of the best cuts to reallyuse for beef jerky so this is what we’regonna use this is already pre-cut and asyou can tell it’s already pretty thinand it just works great so all I’m gonnado is I’m just gonna cut this into bigchunks and I’m gonna throw them in ourmarinade[Music][Music][Music]I’m going to do here is I’m just goingto mix all this up with my hands I wanteverything to get some of that marinadein there look at that this is gonna beawesome this is gonna be fantasticlook at that okay so I’m gonna coverthis up and I’m gonna let it marinateovernight or roughly for about eighthours okay so I let my beef jerkymarinate overnight and we picked apretty good day to get out here and tomake some beef jerky the sun is shiningthere are a few clouds around but stilloverall it’s a really good day to be outhere so one of the things we’re gonna dotoday is I’m gonna show you twodifferent ways to put your beef jerky onthe grill and one of them is probably areal common way by just putting it onthe grill crate itself but I’m gonnashow you another method that mightactually help you out alright so let’scheck it out okay so one of the thingswe want to make sure is that our grilltemperature is up around 130 to around150 degrees and we’re probably at about160 right now which is okay because yourtemperature probably is gonna fluctuateyour temperature will gradually go downas your fire begins to cool off andthat’s totally okay we we can stoke itas we need to and I can still see thatthe temperature is still rising a littlebit so it’ll it’ll be ok we’ll we’llmake do with that that’ll work just fineso there’s a couple different methods Iwanted to show you and one of them isusing skewers just like these right hereyou can also use toothpicks andbasically what you’re going to do isyou’re going to slide your beef jerky onthere and then you’re going to let ithang down over your coals and then thatway thus that keeps you from having tocome in and flip it over from time totime to make sure that you get evendehydration one of the things you wantto make sure that you do before youstart putting your meat on your grill isyou want to make sure all your vents areopen that way all of the moisturewe’ll escape and your beef jerky willcome out nice and tender[Music][Music][Music][Laughter][Music][Laughter][Music][Music][Music]all right let’s see how jerky turned outalmost waited too long it’s perfectsee how nice tender that is[Music][Music]that is perfect nice and tender it’s nottoo stiff it’s not over dehydrated thatthis beef jerky has turned out fantasticand the only unfortunate thing aboutthis is I wished I had meat that’s theonly thing that I regret about thiswhole experience and using this beefjerky in this recipe is that I reallyneed to get in the habit of making awhole lot more than just this little bitso I’m gonna go ahead and try a piece[Music]still warm[Music]we should try this that’s fantastic[Music]that part is I feel like I need to solveall[Music]you[Music]
