Elimination Test 2: The Top 6 faced the classic tag team challenge where they must replicate a complex luxurious seafood platter composed of six dishes: steamed mussels in a white wine broth; fritto misto with aioli; grilled sardines; stuffed squids; red snapper ceviche and scallop Coquilles Saint Jacques. With his last mystery box win, Andrew was given the advantage of choosing the teams. Targeting to eliminate Jeremy and Mai, he chose to pair up himself with Andy; Mai with Christoper; and Jeremy with Thea (who has a shellfish allergy). In the end, Andrew and Andy’s platter was mostly praised though with notable minor flaws including rough presentations, no aioli, overcooked fritto misto and a slightly watery ceviche. Mai and Christopher’s platter was highly praised though a bone was found in their ceviche and their fritto misto needed more frying. Jeremy and Thea’s platter fared the worst with no fritto misto or aioli, badly overcooked mussels with no garnish, clumsily done scallops and a lacking ceviche. Mai and Christopher were declared winners of the challenge, whilst Jeremy and Thea were called out to face elimination.
Pressure Test 2: As the losing team, Jeremy and Thea faced a head-to-head pressure test to determine which of them will be leaving the MasterChef kitchen. They were tasked to create two classic beef dishes: steak au poivre and steak tartare in only 15 minutes. Both beef tartare were almost flawless, but Thea’s steak au povire was judged to be slightly better than Jeremy’s due to his split sauce. Thereby, much to everyone’s shock, Jeremy was sent home.

MasterChef Canada is a Canadian competitive cooking reality show, part of the MasterChef franchise, open to amateur home cooks. It premiered on CTV on January 20, 2014, and has aired its sixth season. The show stars three judges: Claudio Aprile, Michael Bonacini and Alvin Leung. The show is produced by Endemol Shine International and Proper Television.
MasterChef Canada airs Tuesday nights on CTV and the Cooking Channel in the United States.The current season airs starting in September of each year in the U.S. It airs also in Sweden, Italy and Spain.
On August 8, 2018, CTV renewed MasterChef Canada for another season, announcing that audition casting for the all new sixth season was greenlit. Filming began in October 2018 and concluded in January 2019. Season 6 premiered on CTV on April 8, 2019, and ended on June 10.
The series was renewed for a seventh season, which is a Back to Win season. It aired its premiere on February 14, 2021.
