hello there I’m chef Johnny today we are
going to be making up some chickenthighs folks I’ve got out my magic
chef air fryer it’s a ten and a halfquart got this in from new air here
while back wonderful product we’re likewe’re enjoyed using it and I’m going to
show you how to do barbecued chickenthighs in an air fryer so stick around
and see how we do itnow I’m going to cook up four, four thighs tonight so open it up and if you want to leave that skinon there you really don’t have anything
to worry about a little bit of fat rightthere I’ll take off and you’ve got this
little layer of fat there so you come in here get that offthat one’s ready to go
give me just a minute and get the othertwo ready to go and I’ll show you how I
season them up.and get a nice coat that is Crawford’s
on hereit’s over get the other side and again
I’m leaving spread out a little nice andwide so I can get seasoning all over the
entire piece of chicken all over the skinnow if you wanted to you could pull
the skin off these scrape it down youknow you’re doing competition or
something but hey these are just at homeand they’re going the air fryer they’re
not on the smoker anyways but you stillcould do it the same way to get some
flavor down on your chickenI want the skin I want that moisture I want to help
and protect it’s up but as you could seethe whole chicken is covered but what
I’m gonna do is I’m gonna come in hereand I’m gonna I’m gonna tuck the skin
under now so we covered the bottom goodjust the top is tucked under and we’re
going to get these into the air fryerfor about 15 minutesso they’re ready to
go open this up we’ll put them up themiddle shelf now this has some other
accessories like a rotisserie and thingslike that that doesn’t come with the
base package but this is a nice littlecooker and it’s gonna cook these up
really good so while we’re having a breakhere cook guys want to remind you

15 minutes into the cook timeone thing I’ve learned is I’m going to put
just a little uh cutting board they’redisposable cutting board and I’m gonna
pull this rack out I want to kind oflook at these you can see they’re
already starting to brown up pretty goodI’m going to take my instant read I
wanna see how hot it is it’s got a newinstant read from smartro sent this to
me the other day and they’re not even onthe market they’re not on Amazon but
they’re gonna be around 30 bucks and itsays it’ll read in two seconds so let’s
see how how fast it takes it herethese are 122 degrees it took a littl longer
two seconds but not bad for thirtydollar thermometer let me tell you my
my Thermopens are 90 okay that’s anice alternative so we’re gonna put it
back in if you can kind of see why I putthat on there just to kind of keep that
off on my glass keep it clean but I’mgonna close it back up I’m going to take
my temperature up to 400so we’re gonna see y’all in about Oh
10 15 minutes we’re gunna see how these lookI’m betting they’re ready I think 25
minutes tops get this open its upbeen about 24 minutes where where at but
they’re starting to brown pretty good sotake my Smartro thermometer here
and we’re at 167 try that back onedon’t want to hit the bone I tell yathe skin is crisp on there booth oop that one is 170 179 so they are at temperatureso we’re under up under that 25 20 25
and we’re under we’re at 24 includingthe three minute warm-up time so that’s
good so what I’m gonna do is forgot tosee by you can see I forgot to put out
mine little ahcatcher there for my grease but I’m gonna pull this out and I’m gonna take these off and we’re gonnasauce them that’s how we’re making these
barbecued chicken thighs in the ovenis by applying sauce so now got to add some sauce to theseI’ve got my Phils traditional put a link down below

take these and turn them all overnow if you wanted to cook them bottom up part
of the time to kind of crisp that bottomyou could it would help crisp it some but
I’m just going to take this sauce andwe’ve used it before to make some wings
and things like thatjust a little bit off kind of a vinegary
type some kind of very traditional typesalland we’re just coming
put that on there and I’m gonna put themback in there for about all three or
four minutes just let that sauce set real goodand then we’ll get them back
out and give them a tryjust gonna brush these on real good
they’re cooked all the way through soright now all you really have to do is
is set that sauce back open with our ourtray take my thighs set them up therelast thigh in there see if we can get
these out pop that door openremember tosit down my catch ah look at this
chicken thighs are pretty sit that onethere you have itfamily ought to be happy tonightthose are looking beautiful we’re gonna set up sit
there and cool a little bit and then ahwe’ll get a sample of themchicken thighs
are looking pretty I gotta find itnobody wants to get from the camera
I may have to sample this myself seey’all y’all can see the thighs but I tell
you what they’re nice they’re very moistflipping them over halfway through may
not have hurt anything I got a littledark up on top a couple of spots not
gonna hurt anything but if I the flipthem when they have that problem but
since I was gonna saw some I don’t worryabout it I want to make sure that skins
a little bit crispy or also but that isis it pretty pretty piece of chicken
let’s see if we can ah get a little bitoff maybe a little bit of sugar won’t
hurt me half of that sugar six monthsbut we’re give these up you piece of
truck and let you know exactly how theytaste with my Phil’s gourmet traditional
barbecue sauce on emall right I had a Saviorcome in I’m not gonna have to eat
sugar tonightbut anyways John got here in time so I’m
gonna let him try this chicken thighwith the the Phils gourmet sauce he’s had
the sauce before so I know he likes ithot then cool huh they’re probably do a
good job now it’s not outside barbecuebut its barbecue sauce got good flavor its delicious very moistthere ya go a hungry young man yes
