Mouthwatering Crispy Grilled Chicken Wings

Mouthwatering Grilled Chicken Wings and Chicken Marinade Recipe. These crispy grilled wings are marinaded in a Filipino style soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic based chicken marinade.

The easiest and best way to make crispy grilled chicken wings is to grill them over direct heat. In today’s video I’m using my Gateway Drum Smoker with Kingsford Charcoal to get the perfect amount of heat and flames. To do this, I get the charcoal started with a tumbleweed fire starter and let the charcoal burn for about 20 minutes. Then I put the lid on the drum smoker and let the heat come up to 350 degrees.

From there, you simply place the marinated chicken wings as flat as possible on the grate, and cook them for about a total of 10 minutes per side, flipping them over occasionally so they cook evenly. I find that the wings get the perfect crispy skin right around the 185 degree mark in the drum and 195 degrees in the flat. This is my favorite way to get crispy grilled wings.

The recipe for the marinade comes from one of my favorite recipe books titled, BBQ USA by Steven Raichlen. It is a soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic based marinade which I tweaked slightly for this video. Just pause the video when I am making the marinade to get the recipe.
