Quarantine – Lockdown Grilled Chicken Dinner

Everyone is quarantined to the house, so I wanted to share a dinner that we made with items that we had here at home. Its grilled chicken, southern green beans, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes. hey I’m cooking with Chef Fred we’regonna make this delicious grilledchicken with southern green beans mashedpotatoes and coleslaw hi welcome tocooking with Chef Fred we’re ice chefFred teach you the best tips and skillsfor everyday cooking that you can sharewith your family and friends now intonight’s dinner a lot of people havebeen asking me since the lockdown hashappened and been asking me what what dowe cook we have to cook at home a lotnow what do we cook at home so tonight’sdinner is inspired about what we havehere we had some chicken in the freezerwe’ve got canned green beans we’ve gotmashed potatoes and we had a head ofcabbage in the refrigerator so those arethe things that we’re cooking fortonight’s dinner so I hope you enjoythis episode and enjoy watching it withus now here I have some chicken tendersthat are frozen that I thought out andI’m going to put them in a bowl and I’mgonna put some seasoning on them for thegrillnow I’m just using a basic seasoningsalt allowed seasonings out here and Iwill just sprinkle them over and thenget them mixed up real good with theseasoning and then I’m gonna let themsit for hours oh and marinatenext let’s get our green beans going weput those in the pot and then we addsome more water to it and we’re going toput some butter with it and then we’regonna just let these simmer down untilthe water almost bowls out and it givesthe beans a really good flavor and ofcourse we add some salt in there as wellso Kim’s going to help us with thecoleslaw first of all we’re going totake the head of cabbagepeel off the bad leaves to it and thenwe’re going to slice it upthen we put it in the chopper here andwe’re going to just chop it up till it’sa nice real fine chopthen you just want to have a largemixing bowl that you can mix it up inreal good and we just dump that in thereand then we’re going to chop just alittle bit more so we have enough foreverybody tonightyouokay let’s get our slaw mixed up we puta little sprinkling of sugar in it andthen we put a little just a teaspoon ofsalt and then about a half a cup ofmayonnaiseokay and then we’re going to use someapple cider vinegar now make sure thatyou do use apple cider and not whitevinegar it makes a big difference in thetaste we just put about a teeth a littlecapful about a teaspoon of apple cidervinegar and then we mix it all up thisis the simple coleslaw but it suretastes really really good so that’sgoing to go great with our chickendinneryoulet’s take a look at our green beansthey still got a good bit of water toball out of them so we’re just going tolet them continue the ball now John’sgonna help us with the grill we’ve got apit boss here and we’re going to load itup with this chicken and get thischicken grilled off now this pit boss isa little bit different than a normalgrill it’s a smoker and it cooks thechicken had a it’s 400 degrees but itcooks it different than a regular grilldoes it cooks it nice and slow and itdoesn’t take much time to get thischicken done but it gives it a greatgreatnow green beans are starting to lookgood the waters almost bought out whereI want themtime to turn the chicken and it’slooking really really goodyounow we buy a big box of Idaho mashedpotatoes instant potatoes at Sam’s andeven though they’re instant they arereally really good a lot of restaurantsactually use this type of mashedpotatoes but all you do is you add somewater in a bowl and some milk dependingon what ever serving size you want youjust follow the directions on the boxand you just put some water milk andbutter into a bowl put it in themicrowave and this particular size we’regoing to just cook for six minutes andyou do that and then you just add yourpotato flakes to it and you have mashedpotatoes and you see we’re going to adda secret ingredient that makes themreally really goodso they’re ready to come out of themicrowave and then you just add theflakes into them and get them mixed upreally good you it looks kind of seeingat first but you let those potato flakesget hydrated and it becomes nice andthick and then here’s our secretingredient that we always do we put sourcream into it with a little bit of saltand it makes them so so delicious it’ssort of like having a loaded bakedpotato but in a mashed potato they’rereally goodokay our chickens off the grill looksreally really deliciousnow let’s plate it up we got our chickenwith southern green beans mashedpotatoes and coleslaw we’re ready for agreat dinner well thanks for watchingthat video with us I hope it inspiresyou to cook something at home hope itinspires you to find stuff that you havein your freezer and in your cupboards tocook for tonight’s dinner and let youknow that we’re thinking about you we’repraying for you and wish everyone greathealth during this epidemic now this ischef Fred saying go and cook somethinggreat today we love you and we’ll seeyou in the next video thanks forwatching bye for now
