Anabolic Chinese Barbecue Pork (Char Siu/叉烧) – 382 Cal 48 G Protein 7 g fiber 10 g fat 12g sugar

Today’s recipe is for a food very near and dear to my heart, representing one of my favorite Cantonese foods — char siu(叉烧), or Chinese barbecue pork. Whether on its own or in baos, char siu is a Chinese food most of us are familiar with, whether we’ve realized it or not. In this video, I demonstrate how to make the lowest sugar char siu that still brings the flavor.

Ingredients:
1-1.5 pounds (453 – 680 g) pork tenderloin (I used 486g)
72 g oyster sauce (I used Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand)
60 g hoisin sauce (I used premier Japan wheat free hoisin)
80 g soy sauce
30 g rice vinegar
28 g Swerve brown sugar replacement
2 g Chinese five spice
2 g white pepper
3 g garlic powder
40 g imitation honey (I used Mrs. Taste Honey-Free, which I recommend getting because I’ll be using it in a lot of anabolic recipes coming up!)

Total (per serving – ⅓ of the batch)
382 kcal
48 g protein
34 g carbs
7 g fiber
9 g fat
