The Smartypants Dad has been anxious to try this low carb Barbecue sauce recipe he found online.. so today he decided to make Air Fryer Riblets with Blueberry BBQ Sauce
Ingredients:
Pork Riblets
Seasoned salt
For the Sauce:
1 cup water
2 cups Blueberries
2 tbsp tomato paste
4 tbsp stevia (or other low carb sweetener)
2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp liquid aminos
1 tsp Sea Salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp ginger paste
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

hey guys that here I’m going to startcooking dinner right now I am going touse my airfryer and tonight we’re gonnacook some airfryer riblets but to makeit a little bit more interesting we’regonna cook some low carb blueberrybarbecue sauce it’s gonna be deliciousand the ingredients that we’re going tobe using for tonight are your ribletsand to Sisson those rivets we’re gonnause some seasoned salt for the saucewe’re gonna use some tomato paste garlicpowder cayenne pepper ginger paste saltapple cider vinegar some liquid aminosjuice from a lemon some stevia or lowcarbs sugar of your option and this starsome blueberries and that’s it does itall the ingredients first thing we’regonna do is take our riblets and theseason now that your ribs are in thebowl we’re gonna rinse them all off totake some of that package slime off andthen we’ll drive here we have about fivea little bit over five pounds of ribsthey are washed and dried now we’regoing to put our seasoned salt I’m goingto eyeball the amount of seasoned saltand I’m gonna put in here everythingdepends on the amount of ribs and meatthat you have and personal taste[Music][Music]I think dad just said that’s hisfavorite sound in the whole world I’mpretty sure Jordan agrees okay now ourribs are seasoned and we’re just gonnalet it marinate there for a little whilein the meantime we’re going to break ourlow carbblueberry barbecue sauce sorry guys butthis is this barbecue sauce it’s not anairfryer recipe we’re gonna have to goto the stove and get it going now undermedium heat we’re going to use 1 cup ofwater and our blueberries because weneed to suffer them we’re using 2 cupsof blueberries so it’s been about 5minutes or so and our blueberries areready to go down now we’re gonna takethese blueberries and we’re gonna putthem in the blenderif your blender doesn’t blend thingsvery smoothly you might want to use astrainer now we’re gonna take ourblueberry juice back in the pot we’regonna use two tablespoons of tomatopaste and this is gonna give us thetomato base that we need for our sauce[Music]now we’re gonna use the juice of onelemon[Music]all right yes now we’re gonna use twotablespoon of stevia there’s one and twonext we’re gonna use two tablespoons ofapple cider vinegar one okay now is onetablespoon of liquid aminos one teaspoonof sea salt a quarter of a teaspoon ofgarlic powder next we’re gonna put twoteaspoons of ginger paste then the lastthing we’re gonna use is an eighth of ateaspoon of cayenne pepper you can use alittle more decamp pepper if you like ita little spicy but in our cases forfeeding our kit you’re only gonna use aneighth of a teaspoon stop to a mediumheat mix your ingredientsall right now next we’re just gonna letus simmer here for about 20 to 30minutes until it coats the back of yourzone so our sauce has been cooking for afew minutes we gave it a taste and Ithink you could use a little bit moresweetener so we’re gonna use a couple ofmore tablespoons of sweet there[Music]I think however because us is done it’snice and thank you score in the back ofthe screenyou guys are pretty good consistency Ilike this now that our barbecue sauce isdone it’s time to start cooking the ribsgonna lay in the bottom of our airfryer[Music]okay now I took a little bit of ourbarbecue sauce and I’m gonna brush it onour ribs[Music]okay now our airfryer came with thisvery handy rack so we’re gonna put awreck right there and we’re gonna layjust another layer of ribs okay nowwe’re gonna put it in our air fryergonna set it at 372 seven minutes Idon’t know if that’s gonna be longenough but we’re gonna check out and ifwe need to cook it more we’ll cook itmore we just want to make sure that wedon’t overcookall right our seven minutes are up okaywe’re gonna do another seven minutes andwe’ll check them now we’re gonna use ourmeat thermometer and we’re gonna checkthe temperature all right so I justchecked it once in the bottom andvisually I don’t think they’re done wemight have overcrowding them so we’regonna put him back in there and we’regonna cook it for five more minutes[Music]all righty my minute all right all rightnow we’re gonna check the temperatureI’m gonna confident this donehey back in there all right so he’s beena total of around 20 minutes that we’vebeen cooking and on and on I think fivemore minutes five extra minutes and[Music]pretty good we’re gonna brush them whichsauce one last time right okay dad yourribs are all cooked up I think it’s onlyfair if you go first[Music]actually nobody at all what I can say isthis when you think of a barbecue sauceyou think of a very sweet caramelizedsmoky barbecue sauce this is not thatkind of our design new berries are notsweet by nature now with all theingredients that we add I think this hasa little bit more of an Asian swing anancient taste it’s not bad actuallyworks really good I think I will callthis Asian blueberry barbecue sauceAthena’s a proper name and it’s actuallyreally great dissection else I wasthinking there was gonna be a little bitsalty because no we salted their ribsfirst and then we put salt on the sauceactually works really good it’s good Ilike itwell that what do don’tthink is a barbecue saucejust think it’s a sauce for your foryour ribs like it would you have thatagain if daddy said you want me to makethose ribs again your ribs turned outvery tasty and I don’t necessarily thinkI would call his barbecue sauce barbecuesauce but it was quite tasty sauceblueberry Asian fusion barbecue maybe[Music]shoo sauce that’s a weird thing to callit kind of tasted like a shoe blueberryshoes are my very favorite flavor ofshoes though who could taste theblueberry in the sauce really I couldn’ttaste it I couldn’t taste the blueberryoh my gosh it was so sour yeah it’s alittle it’s not it’s not smoky like abarbecue sauce would be it’s not spicylike a barbecue sauce would be there wasreally nothing about this sauce thattasted like a barbecue sauce but it wasstill tasty um who thought the dinnerwas good I would have that again yeah metoo I I was it was unexpected anddifferent which i think was actuallykind of the best part about it I thinkit was great that it was unexpected anddifferent it was a little shocking atfirst because it was not barbecue sauceat all but it was very good anyways um Ithink it would be good to have thisagain and it was pretty quick and easythe only thing was we had to make thebarbecue sauce but now daddy’s saved thebarbecue sauce and we have it in therefrigerator so we could make this againeasy but for nowprobably get my smartypants asses to bedwith your friends[Music]
