Today, I’ll be showing y’all how to make a homemade BBQ sauce using Jack Daniels and honey, as this is simmering, I go over a simple BBQ rub to enhance your meat.

hey guys flannel chef here and so theygot a pretty short video for you I’mjust going to be teaching you guys howto make a nice Jack Daniels barbecuesauce now I’m gonna be using this lateron in another video for a smoked pulledpork then we’re gonna be doing it’sprobably gonna be up on Saturday so butsuper easy recipe we’re gonna start withone small onion that’s been finely dicedand we’re gonna put that into this saucepot with a little bit of oil a mediummedium-high well that’s working and apour and a half a cup Jack Daniels we’regonna let this go for about five sevenminutes just until the onions starts toget a little translucent so it’s beenabout five seven minutes now our onionsare starting to get a little translucentlittle softer so we’re gonna add therest of our stuff it’s gonna be two cupsof ketchup go right in thereas much add as it can alright and thenwe’re gonna add a quarter cup of applecider vinegar you don’t have to useapple cider vinegar I just think thatapple cider vinegar complements pork sothen we had a third of a cup of honeyyou can use brown sugar if you want Ijust decided to use honey then we have1/4 of a cup of Worcestershire saucethen we have 2 teaspoons of paprika 2teaspoons of chili powder and then aboutone and a half teaspoons of garlicpowder now if you wanted to use regulargarlic mince it up you can throw it inright as you’re there’s about a minuteor two left with the onions you wannathrow it in let it get transduce alittle bit well we’re gonna stir thisall up I love this all get incorporatednow we’re gonna let this come back up toa full boil once it comes back up to afull boil we’re gonna drop it back downand we’re gonna simmer it for about 20minutes ok so while the barbecue sauceis simmering we’re gonna make a reallybasic dry rub for the pulled pork thenthey’ll be smoking start with a quartercup brown sugar and the brown sugar ismainly so that the surface of the porkis going to become sticky as it smokesand smokes going to it here that’s goingto create a beautiful bark on it and I’mgonna do one tablespoon of salt we’regoing to do two teaspoons each of blackpepper garlic powder of granulatedgarlic[Music]paprika 2 teaspoonsdark chili powder we’re going to do onepiece done we’re going to put thesmallest dash of cayenne in and then onemore teaspoon of mustard powder aroundmustard then really you’re just taking afork and I’m just gonna mix all thistogether they’re just gonna store thisonce it’s all broken up once there’s nomore long and then airtight containerthis will hold for about a month andthen airtight container just sitting inyour cupboard and it goes really well onthis pork it’s a really nice rub forchicken it’s a good burger rub if youwant something like that maybe add somecoffee grinds to it if you’re gonna doit for a burger ya know okay now thatour sauces that they can have a nicewe’re gonna take it I’m gonna turn offthe burner you’re going to pour iteither pour it into a metal bowl or youcan put it into a food processor or ablender if you have it I am putting itinto a bowl and I’m going to use anemulsifier to lay the onions and makethis into a nice beautiful soft andsauce and it’s going to help all theflavors blend together as well as I saidyou could do this with a blender or aVitamix or a food processor if you haveitI have this little toy which I lovedearly and we’re just going to blendthis all out really nicely[Music]let it cool we’re gonna put it into acontainer we’re gonna store it overnightin the fridge make sure you wait atleast one day before you use this it’sjust gonna let all the flavors andmellow together and hope I was able toteach you guys something and final chefthat’s all I gotyeah
