hey friends welcome back to my kitchenfor another episode of what’s cookingWednesdays today I’m gonna show you howto make the most delicious choppedbarbecue brisket it is so easy and sogood this is a new family favorite ofmine before we get started though besure to hit that subscribe button downbelow and the bell so you get notifiedwhen I post new videos and let’s getcooking alright guys for today’s recipeyou will need a brisket I’ve got a fivealmost five and a half pound briskethere that’s been trimmed if you have abarbecue spice mix like that then youcan go ahead and use itbut if you don’t we’re gonna use saltpepper paprika you’re gonna need abottle of barbecue sauce 1 onion and 2cloves of garlic we’re gonna be cookingthis delicious brisket in a crock pottoday it’s super easy like that anddelicious so let’s get started start bystarting your pan and a little bit ofoil in on the stove we’re gonna let thatheat up while we chop our onions andgarlic so go ahead and dice up youronions you don’t want it to be too smallbut you also don’t want large chunkseither so just a nice good dice is allyou’re gonna need for that go ahead andput those on and a bowl to the sideafter you’re done with that go ahead andpeel and chop your garliconce again make sure that one’s reallyreally fine there and once you’vechopped it just go ahead and leave it onthe cutting board here all right so ourchin is nice and hot here go ahead andswirl that oil around when you know thatyour oil is nice and warm you’re gonnasee these little bitty smoke flares comeup off of the pan I’m trying to point itum there but you can’t really see themon the camera so but that’s how you knowthat your oil is done very nice and warmgo ahead and put those onions in andwe’re gonna cook those up really niceonce those onions are starting to get alittle bit translucent then we’re gonnago ahead and add in the garlic we don’twant to add the garlic and the onions inat the same time because your garlic’sgonna burn if you try to cook it as longas you do the onions so cook thoseonions up first and then we’ll add inthe garlic all right so these onions arealmost done before it doesn’t enough toadd in the garlic so we don’t want it tobe too overly cooked because we aregonna throw these in the crock-pot forfour hours we just want to kind of breakthem down a little bit you can see howalmost all of them are start to become alittle bit translucent that’s really allwe want here so I’m gonna go ahead andgrab my garlic and add that in and we’regonna cook that in a little bit longerand add it into the crock-pot whilewe’re seasoning our beef so throw thegarlic in and probably cook it for aboutfive minutes or so and then go ahead andadd these into the crock-pot[Music]all right so our onions and garlic arenow in the crock-pot waiting for uswe’re gonna go ahead and season thisbrisketso this is a little bit too long for mycrock-pot so I just cut it in half andthis is a trim two briskets but when youflip it over you do see a decent amountof fat on there I’m gonna go ahead andclean that up you don’t have to it itwill just give it some more flavor andthings like that but I don’t like totrim off my fat after I’ve eaten it so Ilike to clean it up the best that I canbefore I cook it so I’m just gonna takea second to just really trim that fatoff[Music]all right so our brisket is nice andtrimmed and we are gonna start seasoningnow if you have a barbecue seasoninglayer it on pack it on like go ahead anduse it I do use this a lot of the timebasically what’s in this is salt pepperpaprika garlic powder and onion powderand that’s really what I’m recreatingtoday if you don’t have a barbecue spicewe’re gonna do it this way we’re gonnaload this thing up with some nice bigkosher saltwhen I cook things like this I like touse thick kosher salt it’s just apersonal preference and it seems to beeasier for me to be able to salt itbecause I can see how see actually whereit’s at versus like those tiny littlegrains of salt I don’t know I could bemaking that up in my head but go aheadlayer the salt on layer the pepper onand then layer that paprika on we wantthis really really heavy paprika most oftime is not spicy especially the kindthat I have so layer it on it will giveit some nice good flavor paprika is oneof my favorite spices if you haven’tnoticed let me see this flap in thereI’m gonna go ahead and season that toseason every single side of this brisketvery very heavily once you seasoned itrub it in massage it in give it a nicegood massage it has had a hard day andwe really want to get those spices inthere and make this brisket deliciousall right so now that you’ve seasonedall of your sides oh you can kind of seethe smoke player on this on this one butgo ahead and add the brisket into yourstove on your pit your pan on your stovewe want to get a nice good sear kind oflike we did on the roast video I willlink that one up here if you want towatch it as wellwe just want to sear in all those spicesall those juices it’s really gonna helphold on to the flavor of this so I liketo get a nice good sear on all sides itreally just depends on how thick yourmeat is most of the time I like it tosit about a minute to two minutesdepending on like the thickness of mymeat here I let it sit a minute on allsides evena little flap that we seasoned I openedthat up and I seared that as well so goahead and do that I’m not going to showyou me searing the whole entire roastand then we will move on to the nextstepall right so our brisket is seared onall sides you can see our onion andgarlic is in the crock pot put one layerof your brisket in and then we’re gonnaadd in our barbecue sauce I like to addit in layers just so every side reallygets good and covered I added about halfof the jar here and then I just put onthe other half of the brisket and toppedit off with the other half of the jar ofbarbecue sauce and I mean that’s that’sit guys we’re gonna put a jar ofbarbecue sauce in here now I’m gonna putabout half of a jar of water in thisbarbecue sauce and I like to shake thelast little bit of barbecue sauce out ofthe jar but also that water really justkind of helps start the cooking processand help steam it so go ahead put alittle bit of water in your jar andshake it up really good get all thatdelicious sauce out it’s so good up andthen just pour it in your crock pot Imean guys that’s it it’s super easy thenwe’re gonna close our crock pot set iton high for four hours[Music]all right guys it’s been four hours ourbrisket is done let’s take it out andtake a closer look at it I mean this wasthe easiest meal ever it’s seasoned itsear it put it in the crock-pot for fourhours and let it goI mean it’s so good but look at thisthing alright guys so now here we’regonna go ahead and chop it up now theseare those are not my beautiful hairy manhands those are my husband he ischopping this up for me today you canslice it like he is here or you can turnaround and chop it upwe have been chopping it up and thenfreezing it with outlet just like I doall my other meal prep meals but I’venoticed with chopping up the brisket
