hey Facebook followers I wanted to comeon today and show you a recipe that issuper delicious and super easy to makein the instant pot it’s a ribs alongwith some whole thirty approved barbecuesauce for today so ribs in the instantpot you wouldn’t have guessed it but youcan actually make it in about 35 minutesin the instant pot and literally theymeet on the ribs will fall off the bonewhen you’re ready to eat them so it’sreally really quite awesome to be ableto have an alternative to having toroast or smoke the ribs all day long oreven bake them all day long to get thattender fall off the bone ribs so anywayand then if you’re following the whole30 you might have been a little nervousabout some of your condiments because alot of them do have the extra addedsugar in them that is just somethingyou’re giving up for 30 days to see ifit makes a difference for a lot of ussugar has a lot to do with beating thebad gut bacteria so when you get aboutimbalance of gut bacteria in yourintestine intestinal lining what thatmeans is it changes the micro Kandra ofyou our gut lining and it can wreakhavoc on not only cognitive issues butalso digestive issues it can also wreakhavoc on your skinit’s amazing what our good gut bacteriareally does for our body so that’s oneof the reasons why we’re giving up thesugar for the 30 days and then of coursethe obvious of you know excess sugarcauses excess fat storage trying to getrid of that too so anyway I wanted toshow you the recipe so come on down herewith me and then I have my daughterbehind me and she’s gonna help me makethe barbecue sauce today she’s overManning the Vitamix so first we’re gonnado the rub for the ribs and I’ll showyou how that’s all put together and thenI’ll change the station around a littlebit since my kitchen is so on thesmaller side but that’s okaydoesn’t mean you can’t make deliciousfood in a small kitchen and then we’llgo over to where my daughter is andwe’ll watch her make the barbecue sauceand then we’ll come back to my stationI’ll show you how to finish the processof cooking the ribs in the instant potso I’m gonna lower you down here so youcan see my bowl I’m gonna do this verycarefully all right so you hopefully youare able to see the ribs I did cut themto ribs wide so they’re already cut forme and that’s something you’ll probablywant to do because that’ll make it areally easy for stacking in the instantpot and then I have my bowl here and mybowl is going to make my seasoning and Ialready have everything measured out soand you’ll have the recipe in thecomments as well so I will make sure Ipost that for you so in my bowl to startthe seasoning or the rub I’m gonna startwith some oregano and that’s probablythe most quantity of the spice is theoregano there’s two tablespoons therethen I’m going to do some onion powderright inside there garlic powder cuminsome dry dry mustard seed some sea saltHimalayan sea salt is one of myfavorites the reason for it is it’smined from the earth rather than cookeddown like sea salt is when it’s minedfrom the earth all of the seven mineralsare still intact so that’s kind of coolyour magnesium your phosphorus here allthe electrolytes that you need in yourday some ground pepper and the lastingredient is some paprika here so I amjust gonna stir that up here and therecipe will include all of those for youso there is my dry rub and I’m gonna goahead and put that on the ribs now so Ijust start don’t be afraid if you’renervous about raw meat go ahead and putgloves on it’s no big dealbut if you’re confident and in the meatthat you have in the sourcing it shouldbe okayit is totally your preference and I’mbeing pretty generous with my dry rubhere making sure that I coat both sidesinside and on the top side focusing moreof your attention probably on the meteorside so the top side of the meet iswhere you’ll want to have most of therub on and if you have some rub leftover what I would suggest that you dowith it is just sprinkle it on top justbefore you seal up the instant pot sothat took most of it sure I got bothsides here there we gookay so we’re gonna let that sit forjust a minute and now we’re gonna goover to Bella let me wash my hands andthen I’ll be able to pick you were thephoneokay so come on over here we’re gonnacome over to where Bella is and she isover by the Vitamix here she has acouple of ingredients here but there isa little bit of prep work to do for thebarbecue sauce can I have you hold thatfor me for just a second okay follow meso first what I had to do is caramelizesome onions caramelize some onions withthe garlic so I went ahead and did thatin advance so I’m gonna go ahead and putthat into the Vitamix so these are niceand tender and what I caramelize themwith the oil that I used was ghee youcould also use avocado oil with that aswell there’s no problem the other thingthat I did in advance is I made my sweetpotatoes I don’t know if they can seethat or not my sweet potatoes I usedsome apple juice make sure that when youpurchase your apple juice that it is ondoesn’t have any added sugar to it it’sjust the sugar from the apples and thenI added some water to that just to coverthe sweet potatoes and they’re just toforth tender so as soon as you canpierce it with your fork you know thatthey can see that honey okay I’m goingto add that to the Vitamix as well allthe contents all right then I am gonnaturn the camera over to Bellaand she’s gonna add the rest of theingredients to this so why don’t youstart with this show them they’ll showthe camera what you gotso that is a tomato paste and that’sthree ounces you can use that spatulaand she’s gonna add it right to theVitamix nice job kiddo yep yep yep thatlooks great sweetie okay and the rest ofwhat she has I’m gonna start with thiswe have some apple cider vinegarperfect some paprika nice some Himalayansea salt and then we have some redpepper flakes so you might see on therecipe that the recipe actually calledfor Chipotle seasoning I didn’t have anyso I’m substituting with red pepperflakes perfect we’re just gonna put thatlast little bit in there alright soshe’s gonna seal this up for me if youhave a Vitamix you’ll want to use thepuree function so right on the front isthe puree function and she’s gonna pushstartand that is it so literally just a fewlittle ingredients there is a little bitof prep work with the sauce cooking thesweet potatoes to tender and then alsocaramelizing the onions and the garlicyou’ll see on the recipe as well thatthe recipe actually calls for roastedgarlic again I didn’t have any and Ididn’t have the time to roast it so Ijust sauteed it with the onions and madeit tender that way so let’s try this letme get a spoon here so I have my foodcritic with me so we’ll see how thistastes okay so tell me if it tastes likebarbecue sauce mmm that is good what doyou think pretty good awesome all rightso back over to my stationso my critic said it was good how aboutthat Wow kid-approved huh okay so I’mgonna go get my instant pot now I’mgonna show you how to finish the processwith those ribs and get you all set upfor that again it only takes 35 minutesI keep missing the camera I again itonly takes about 35 minutes so that’skind of cool to know that you can makeribs on a weeknight so and impress yourfamily when you’re in a rush which iskind of cool the instant pot isdefinitely one of those game-changerappliances that I appreciate very muchall rightok so I have my instant pot here I’mgonna go ahead and take my lid uh-huhmaybe there we go okay so you’lldefinitely want to use the insert inthis because you’re gonna want to add alittle bit of water to this you don’twanna add about a cup of water in thebottom of your inside I’m gonna see if Ican lower this down so you guys can seewhat I’m up toso my instant pot just has water in itand that’s all it has in there if yourshas the little tray that has the handleson it you can go ahead and leave thehandle up that way they’re really easyto pull out when they’re ready and thenall you do is just take those ribs thatyou’ve seasoned already with a dry ruband just stack them in it really doesn’tmatter how you do it it’s gonna placethe entire contents under pressure sothat’s kind of coolstack them in there I’ve been able in myinstant pot to get about a rack and ahalf in my 6 quart instant pot so that’skind of cool that feeds a lot of peopleok and then I have a little bit ofseasoning on my cutting board so I amjust gonna push that all in right on topof those ribs you worked very hard onmaking that seasoning so let’s use itall and there we goall right so let’s go ahead and sealthis up let’s put the lid on all rightso here’s what I’m gonna do oh my phoneI got a new phone so I’m pushing allthese buttons that I don’t know so I’mgonna seal this for me on my instep ah’dthis is venting and this is seal so I’mgoing to make sure that’s in the sealedposition and then I’m gonna come on thefront here and I’m going to go ahead andpush manual right now it’s set for 15minutes so I want to increase that to 35minutes and that’s it it will build uppressure on the inside of the instantpot and then once it’s up to pressurethat’s when the 35 minute countdown willstart and then as soon as you have yourinstant pot go off it’ll say el and thenthe time so like el 0 0 1 that justmeans that’s on low pressure or startingto depress your eyes and then onceyou’re ready to eatyou can unseal it just by turning thatlittle knob that we turned to sealyou’ll turn it to venting make sure thatif it’s right after it’s done cooking itstill has that pressure inside so makesure that you use some some sort ofutensil to turn that knob I use like abutter knife or a spatula or somethingyou don’t want your hand too close tothat because that steam is gonna bepretty powerful and instant so steamburns are no fun at all and then oncethey’re depressurized you just open upthe lid on your instant pot put them ona serving platter along with yourbarbecue sauce you got a nice dinnerwith this you could serve this with acouple ideas for you you could servethis with like a green salad with yourown dressing if you are doing the whole30 you could also serve this with makingyour own sweet potato salad so just likeregular potato salad sweet potato saladinteresting thing between white potatoesand sweet potatoes sweet potatoes tendto have a little more fiber they alsohave a little morethe mineral and vitamin profile sothey’re a little more beneficial for thebody and then a white potato whitepotatoes are just fine though anyvegetables we encourage you to eat asmany vegetables as you can so anyway Ihope that recipe helps you and hopefullyyou’ll try it and let me know what youthink about it in the comments I’ll postthe recipes for you have fun doing itbye
