This is a super easy and delicious way to serve up some bbq turkey thighs from the air fryer. Use any combination of barbecue seasoning and sauce that you like, homemade or store-bought. I think I’ll pick up some turkey legs next time I go to the store and try them in the air fryer, too!
I am using an Instant Vortex basket-style 6qt air fryer (link below). Please adjust cooking temperatures and times according to the make/model that you own.

Instant Vortex Plus 6-in-1 Air Fryer, 6 Quart, 6 One-Touch Programs, Air Fry, Roast, Broil, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate: https://amzn.to/30pZ4dt
Today’s Ingredients:
2 bone-in, skin-on turkey thighs – 18oz each in the video, 2¼ lb total
2 TB olive oil
2 TB barbecue seasoning (McCormick’s Barbecue in the video)
about ½ cup barbecue sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s Sweet and Spicy in the video)
Instructions:
1. Rub the turkey thighs with the olive oil and barbecue seasoning and set aside to marinate at room temperature for 30-60 minutes. If you want to marinate longer, place them into the fridge, but remember to pull them out 30-60 minutes before cooking to take the chill off.
2. Air fry for 30 minutes at 375°, flipping at the halfway point. Skin side up or down doesn’t matter for this step.
3. Now to add your barbecue sauce: Flip the thighs to skin side down and brush sauce all over the bottoms of the thighs. Air Fry at 375° for 3-5 minutes, flip to skin side up, and repeat with sauce over the skin and air fry a final 3-5 minutes.
4. Move the thighs to a cutting board and allow to rest 10 minutes before biting or cutting into it.
5. Enjoy!
