MasterChef: The Professionals is an a British reality TV show created by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisbergand is produced by DC Entertainment, Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television . The show stars Gregg Wallace, Michel Roux Jr., Monica Galetti and Sean Pertwee. MasterChef: The Professionals first aired on BBC Two on August 25, 2008. So far there have been thirteen seasons. The series currently has a 7.8 out of 10 IMDb rating, based on 295 user votes.
When does MasterChef: The Professionals season 14 come out?
BBC Two has yet to be officially renew MasterChef: The Professionals for season 14. As of November 2021, there is no release date scheduled for the new season. This does not mean the series has been canceled. The show may be on a break and the next season has not been announced or scheduled yet. After spending 13 series on BBC Two, MasterChef: The Professionals moved to BBC One last year. The move reflected the increasing success of the series, which has been BBC Two’s highest-rating cookery show for the past three years.
Charlotte Moore, Director BBC Content, says: “MasterChef is one of the channel’s biggest brands and following the impact of Covid on the production of original programming it feels like the time is right to move ‘The Professionals’ to BBC One and find an even wider audience.”
Commissioning Editor for the BBC, Carla-Maria Lawson, says: “MasterChef: The Professionals has uncovered and nurtured some incredible culinary talent over the years whilst also reflecting changes in the way we eat out. It’s never been a more challenging time for these talented professionals and it’s exciting that they’ll be able to showcase their skills to the BBC One audience.”
How MasterChef: The Professionals works is that the series begins with around 48 contestants, who compete in four heats. These will air weekly, and 12 chefs will begin the week in each heat with a series of challenges. At the end of each episode, the three weakest chefs will be eliminated.
After this, the final 12 contestants will face the knockout, then the top eight chefs will automatically progress while the remaining four will cook off for the final two places in the next round.
The remaining 10 chefs will face another challenge, and a further two will be eliminated.
Semi-final week will see the eight professional chefs become four for the final, in which one will be crowned MasterChef: The Professionals champ 2020.
