• Da Bald Guy – Honolulu, Hawaii (James Martin, Missy Rabaino, Ali’i Pukahi): A Hawaiian fusion truck that serves dishes like poke bowls, kalua pork sliders, and loco moco.
• Lisa’s Creperie – Atlanta, Georgia (Lisa Thiffault, Ally Marlow, Miranda Moore): A French-inspired truck that offers sweet and savory crepes with fillings like Nutella, ham and cheese, and chicken pesto.
• D’Pura Cepa – Miami, Florida (Jose Carnot, Janshanic Santos, Louis Del Rio Rubio): A Latin American truck that specializes in arepas, empanadas, and patacones with various toppings and sauces.
• Paisani – Boston, Massachusetts (Ryan Palmer, Matthew Minichiello, Tommy Southwick): An Italian-American truck that serves classic dishes like pizza, pasta, meatballs, and cannoli.The rookie teams competing are:
• 2 Girls Jamaican Tacos – Brooklyn, New York (Shelly Flash, Bri Labossiere, Elijah McPhie): A Caribbean-Mexican fusion truck that combines Jamaican jerk chicken with tacos and other Mexican staples.
• 4 Hens Creole Kitchen – St. Louis, Missouri (Brandi Artis, Brittany Artis, Zendrix Berndt-White): A Southern truck that dishes out Creole cuisine like gumbo, jambalaya, po’boys, and beignets.
• Khana – Detroit, Michigan (Maryam Khan, Al Jane, Jake Nielsen): A modern Pakistani street food truck that offers dishes like biryani, samosas, kebabs, and chaat.
• The Block – Indianapolis, Indiana (Terry Anthony, Carl Harris, Crystal Kilgore): A comfort food truck that serves burgers, fries, mac and cheese, and fried chicken with various sauces and toppings.
• The Easy Vegan – Denver, Colorado (Taylor Herbert, Alexi Mandolini, Matt Heikkila): A plant-based truck that makes vegan versions of popular dishes like nachos, burritos, cheesesteaks, and cupcakes.Each week, the couples will perform a different challenge, such as creating a signature dish, catering for a special event, or collaborating with a local restaurant. The judges will score each performance out of 10, while the viewers will vote for their favorite couple via telephone or SMS. The judges’ scores and the viewer votes will be combined to determine which couple will be eliminated each week. The last couple standing will be crowned the winners of The Great Food Truck Race Season 16.
