✅Ingredients

• 2 thick cut steaks 2 inches
• 2 teaspoons olive oil or vegetable oil
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 2 tablespoons butter

✅Instructions

1️⃣Remove steaks from refrigerator and any packaging. Brush each side with oil to coat.

2️⃣In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, and onion powder in a small bowl. Rub both sides of each steak with the rub mixture. Let steaks sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cooking.

3️⃣Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat, about 500 degrees. Sear steaks for 3 minutes per side. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking with the lid closed until the steaks reach the desired level of doneness, 130 degrees F for medium-rare.

4️⃣When the steaks are removed from the grill, immediately top with 1 tablespoon butter each, tent with aluminum foil, and allow the steaks to rest 5 to 10 minutes before cutting into them.

Today on The Stay At Home Chef I’m showing
youHow to Grill Steak Perfectly Every TimeI’ll be covering both the traditional method
for grilling steakas well as the reverse sear.To start you’ll need some steak. You want to buy one that’s about 2 inches
thickToday I’m using Ribeye but this method will
also work with any other cut of steak. So you can use like a New York strip steak,
a T-bone, a Ribeye like this….really any steak will work. You want to brush your steak with a little
bit of oil on both sidesNow steak is sold in different grades of beef
so you can getselect, choice, or prime. And let me tell you, it’s worth theextra few dollars to get at least choice grade
beef, if not prime. Now I season my steaks with just salt and
pepper. So you’ll want about 2 teaspoons of salt1 teaspoon black pepper1 teaspoon white pepperThen stir this all together.I like to pre-mix it before placing it on
my steakThen we’ll generously, very generously season
both sides of each of our steaksYou want to get a good coating of that simple
rub of salt and pepper on there. With a good piece of beef salt and pepper
is really all that you needLet the steaks sit at room temperature like
this for about 30 minutesMeanwhile, for the traditional method you’ll
want to get an outdoor grill heating to high, smokin’ hot heat.Sear your steak for about 2-3 minutes per
side.So you’ll put it on the grill and close the
lid. Then after about 2-3 minutes open the lid
back up and we’ll flip our steak. Now once that other side has had a chance
to sear for 2-3 minutesyou’ll want to reduce the heat to low to let
it finish cooking. Now how long it will take for your steak to
finish cookingdepends on how done you want your steak, how
thick it is, things like thatso I’ll give you a little handy dandy chart
to help you outbut it’s important to use a meat thermometer
to ensure 100% accuracy. Now for a reverse sear you want to start it
over low heat.So you’ll want one side low heat and the other
side high heat. And of course for the reverse sear you’ll
want to close the lid and let it cook. Now once your steak reaches an internal temperature
of about 110 degreesyou’ll want to move it to the hot side to
let it sear. And once again, it’s about a 2-3 minute sear
per side.Once the steaks come off the grill and reach
tempyou’ll want to top them with a tablespoon
of butter eachand tent them loosely with aluminum foilThe aluminum foil will help keep the steaks
warm as they restYou want to let them rest for about 5 minutes
so thatthe meat has a chance to re-absorb some of
the juicesAnd then, you’re ready to eat!Perfect steak every single time! You really need to get yourself a meat thermometer,
it makes all of the difference. Thanks for watching! You can find the full written recipe in the
