Hi I am Maribel and I am so excited to be sharing with you my secret ingredient I incorporate to all of my dishes. I created my own sofrito at the age of 15 years old to make things easier for me in the kitchen.
Being the oldest of 8, after school I would rush home to cook dinner and I needed something I could grab and throw in a pan. Something that was full of flavor, something with the right amount of spice, something so tasty 7 siblings would eat and possibly begging for more.
My method of building 3 different sofrito’s will save you time from chopping & dicing and will help you create dishes your family will have you begging for more.
I will also bring from my Kitchen to yours! Desserts that will compliment your dishes and your sweet palate and let’s not forget Bread’s such as Bread baked with Chorizo.

Grilled Pesto Steak With Mash Potatoes & Corn
Steak – Any cut you like
½ Cup Of Red Wine
½ Cup Of Mojo (Goya) if you don’t have mojo the juice of one Lemon
Pepper Flakes – Add to taste
2 Tablespoons Of Pesto
½ Cup of Sofrito – (Link to recipe below)
Salt – Add to taste
Marinate Steak For 1-2 Hours in the Fridge for the Ingredients to infuse the meat and tenderize it.
1 ½ Cups of Butter Mixed With 1 Tablespoon of Dill and 1 Tablespoon of Pesto (Reserve 2 Tablespoon for the end)
¾ Cup of White Wine
Butter Spread For The Corn
1 Cup of Butter
1 Tablespoon of Pesto
1 Tablespoon of Dill
Spread the butter mixture all around the Corn Cob
and wrap with aluminum foil.
1 Cup of mixture of Heavy Cream and Milk
3 Tablespoon of Butter mixed with Dill
2 Tablespoon of Sour Cream (You can also use Cream Cheese)
Salt – Add to taste
Pepper – Add to Taste
