Easy Grilled Chicken With Sweet Marinade – Huli Huli Chicken

Although I LOVE all kinds of smoked and grilled meats, I try and eat them in moderation. If you are trying to eat a little healthier, maybe try this delicious grilled chicken with a sweet marinade. It is quick, pretty healthy, and everyone will love it!

It is also perfect if you are serving a large group of people in your backyard barbecue because you can made it in a matter of minutes!

INGREDIENTS
20 ounce can sliced pineapple
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 teaspoons fresh ginger minced
2 teaspoons fresh garlic minced
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or tenders
cilantro (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
Drain the pineapple, reserving 1 cup of the pineapple juice. Save the pineapple slices for later use.
Place the pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup and sesame oil in a large bowl. Whisk to combine.
Stir the garlic and ginger into the large bowl of marinade. Add the chicken thighs and toss to coat.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Preheat an outdoor grill or grill pan to medium heat.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place on the grill. Cook for 6-8 minutes per side or until chicken is done.
Place the pineapple slices on the grill. Cook for 2 minutes per side.
Place the pineapple and chicken on a plate. Sprinkle with cilantro then serve.

hey everyone welcome back to backyardTexas barbecue today we’re grilling upsome Huli Huli chicken you are not gonnawant to miss it still my name is KristenHills and I am all about easy simplecooking and I absolutely love grillingwhether it’s on a smoker whether it’s ona grill and today we’re actually gonnabe using my indoor grill now the recipesthat I cook for you really are so simplebut delicious so you guys are readylet’s get cooking alright so the firstthing we want to do is get a marinade soI have actually two pounds of chickentenderloins in here now you can usechicken breasts if you want to but Ilike tenderloins because they’re allabout the same thickness all the waythrough so if I were sticking withtenderloins today first we’re gonna addabout two teaspoons of minced garlic ontop of that I chopped up some freshginger just into small little pieces nowfresh ginger makes the world ofdifference and it tastes so good withthat ginger in there all right now it isHuli Huli chicken so we do need somedelicious pineapple flavoring I got acan of 20 ounce sliced pineapple sowe’re just going to drain the juice intothe marinade but you’re gonna want tokeep the sliced pineapples for later ontop of that we’re gonna do 1/2 cup ofsoy sauceI love marinades that have soy sauce inthem now we have a third of ketchupwhoopsI usually just estimate ketchup likewhether you do a third or a half a cupit will still be deliciousthen you’re gonna do 1/3 cup of brownsugar this is packed brown sugar so Ipacked it into my cup and then just dumpit in the last thing we’re adding todayis sesame oil now you can find this atany grocery store it’s super easy tofind and we’re just gonna add onetablespoon of sesame oil[Music]all right once that’s all done now ifyou notice these are my freezer mealbags it’s also one of my favorite thingsto use when I’m doing marinades becauseI just like to marinate it in a biggallon size bag you’re gonna zip it upget all the air out as much air as youcan and you are good to go all rightthen you’re just gonna take it and justmix it around really good now I love mymarinades if they marinade overnight orfor 24 hours but if you are short ontime even just marinating them for anhour will make a world of a differenceall right all ready to go I’m just gonnastick this in the fridge and then we’llget grilling in a little bit all rightjust pulled it out of the refrigeratorit’s been marinating for over 24 hours Iam super excited I’m gonna be turningthis now the goal of the chicken is toget it to a hundred and sixty-fivedegrees so using a thermometer is goodbecause you don’t want dry chicken andthese pieces are little so they’re gonnacook really fastwe’re gonna keep chicken on this sideand then we’re gonna do corn and mypineapple on the other side hey I’mgonna fit over my chicken now after Iflip the chicken don’t worry I washedthe tongs and I’m flipping over in thepineapple[Music]alright once your chicken is done andhas reached 165 degrees pull it offbecause it is done we’re just gonna letit rest for a little bit while we’repulling it up don’t forget to pull topyour pineapple now I’m just gonna add alittle bit of cilantro on top you canalso add green onions too and be amazingalright guys thanks so much for stoppingby now if you want more barbecue recipesmake sure you check out my other realchicken recipe and I will see you guysnext Friday see you later bye
