The juiciest, tastiest drumsticks ya ever tasted!

BBQ Rub:
– 1/2 cup paprika (if you don’t have wood chips, use 1/4 cup smoked paprika & 1/4 cup regular paprika)
– 1/4 cup kosher salt
– 1/4 cup freshly ground pepper
– 1/4 cup brown sugar
– 1/4 cup chili powder
– 3 tbsp freshly ground cumin
– 1/2 – 1 tbsp cayenne depending on your heat preference
– 1 tbsp coffee

Other ingredients:
– 6 chicken drumsticks
– 1 cup wood chips (hickory, mesquite, applewood, etc.)
– vegetable oil for greasing grill

1. Thoroughly combine BBQ rub ingredients in a large bowl (note: you only need half this rub for 6 legs so store the rest in an airtight container)
2. Pat drumsticks semi-dry with paper towel
3. Coat each drumstick with rub, then place on wire rack to rest 20 min
4. Place 1 cup wood chips onto large piece of foil, and fold up all sides and corners
5. Flip foil package over and poke a few holes for air flow
6. Lift up your left-most grill grate, and place the foil package directly onto the burner. Replace grill grate.
7. Preheat all grill burners on high for 15 minutes, then turn off all burners that the drumsticks will be placed on (do NOT turn off burner with wood chips on it)
8. Grease up grill with vegetable oil
9. Place drumsticks on grates that don’t have burners on
10. Grill for 25 minutes, then flip and check every 10 minutes until temp closest to the bone reaches 160-165f
11. Move drumsticks to fire side, and char for 5 minutes
12. Remove and let rest for 10 minutes (optionally cover with foil), then dig in!

Oven modification”
1. Cook drumsticks at 400f for 45 minutes, or until internal temp registers 165f
