Homemade Grilled Chicken Shawarma/Gyro/Doner Kebab recipe that is better than your local restaurants, made with just a few ingredients!
We call it Shawarma, you call it Gyros and some people call it Doner Kebab! Either way this easy Grilled chicken recipe is simple & fantastic!
It’s super flavorful and great for tacos or in this video, we will eat with pita bread, salad and coleslaw!
Now some of the original Shawarma/Gyro/Doner Kebab recipes call for using special sauce made from yogurt and spices, and some of them use ground meat and a rotisserie, but who has time for that, or the money to buy all that equipment.
In my recipe, as always, I will make it easy peasy for you.
I’m using Taco seasoning and Mayonnaise Coleslaw!

Ingredients Grilled Chicken Shawarma aka Gyro aka Doner Kebab
(2-3 Portion)
1 Pack Taco seasoning (My favorites is hot and spicy from Old ElPaso brand) – NOT SPONSORED!!!
1 Tsp Cumin Powder
4-5 Garlic cloves
1 – 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
4 Pc Pita Bread (Or can use naan bread/tortilla wrap)
2 chicken breast or 5 thigh meat
Fresh Salad (Lettuce, cucumbers and tomato)
Mayonnaise Based Coleslaw
