Best Oven Baked BBQ Pork Ribs

BBQ Pork Ribs with Homemade BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:
2 slabs pork ribs

Dry Rub:
2 tbsp. smoke paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp dried rosemary
1 tsp powder

For the BBQ Sauce:
2 1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
2 tbsp worcestershire
1 tsp garlic finely minced
1 tsp hot pepper sauce
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 ground black pepper
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1/4 maple syrup (optional)

Instructions:
1. Peel off tough membrane that covers the underside/bony side of the ribs. Place on a baking sheet or tray lined with foil (or parchment paper). 
2. Preheat oven to 275°F.
3. Combine all the dry rub ingredients in a small bowl and simply rub it on with your hands and in large quantities. You want to form the bark on the outside of the ribs that helps keep the moisture in.
4. Marinate for 1 hr to give the pork ribs enough time to absorb all the spices.
5. Meanwhile, crushed garlic and onions in the food processor then pour in a small sauce pan adding all the sauce ingredients and put it back to the food processor to finely crushed the garlic and onions.
6. Pour the sauce back to onto the sauce pan and simmer for 5-10 mins.
7. Get the ribs and put it inside the preheated oven for 1hr.
8. Increase the oven to 300-350 after 30 minutes.
9. Remove ribs from the oven, and spread the both sides of the ribs with the homemade barbecue sauce.
10. Return ribs to the oven, uncovered, and bake for a further 15 minutes to lightly char and caramelise the edges.
11. Rest for 10 minutes to allow the juices to recirculate back into the meat before slicing.
12. Serve and Enjoy!
