Gluten-Free Char Siu (Asian BBQ Pork) 家庭式叉烧

Happy Year of the Rat every one! I hope you are all doing well and dragons look kindly on your family. I saw that it was a Lunar(Asian) new Year and wanted to do one of my favorite dishes, Char Siu, or Chinese BBQ Pork which you might be more familiar with. The Recipe for 5 -Spice powder:
1 Tbls Cinnamon
1 Tbls Ground Cloves
1 Tbls Szchwhwan Pepper corns( or Red Chili Flakes)
1 Tbls Ground Star Anise

I Added 1 Tbls Ginger Powder to the blend.

[Music]happy Lunar New Year everyone it’s theyear of the rat and for this I inspiredan Asian style dish this is char suitChinese barbecue pork I got off a recipeoff of another youtuber which herdescription will be or link will be inthe thing then I got some sautéedcabbage and other types of vegetablesand some jasmine rice now you can buysome of this at the store but I’m gonnashow you how to make it and it’s reallysimple and easy you can usually findthis in your local Asian markets grababout 2 of the cubes that are in thisand then some of the sauce and mash itinto a nice fine paste and then you’llbe ready for the next step you will need2 tablespoons of hostin sauce 2tablespoons of soy sauce this is glutenfree use 2 tablespoons of Chinesecooking rice or you can use this as asubstitutenow the sesame oil is purely up you’regonna want to use about 2 tablespoons ofhoney I use mine from Robins honey farmyou only need about a tablespoon ofChinese five-spice powder you can buy itat the store but I’ll have theingredients down on the description thenadd about 1/2 a teaspoon of ground whitepepper then you add your garlic you caneither use a half a teaspoon of thepowder two whole cloves you crushed andthen graded or 1 tablespoon of mint oryou can use part of a shallot instead ofgarlic you can use many styles of porkfrom roast to ribs but make sure they’recut into manageable pieces make sure youcover the meat really well at themarinade and leave set in a refrigeratorfor 15 minutes to 24 hoursI use a rack and a broiler pan so I canactually catch the drippings and stuffso they don’t spill everywhere from thenormal cookie sheet oh and also the meatwon’t scorch on the bottomsmake sure you add about a cup and a halfof water to the bottom of your pan thatway the sauce that drips and stuffdoesn’t burn and smoke then into theoven for 15 minutes there’s many typesof cabbages across the world to use frombok choy to redhead I’m using a napacabbage cut your cabbage lengthwise thatway you save some of it and then you’lltake it and slice into thin strips takeabout nine Thai basil leaves and chopthem up nice and fine now you’re goingto want about a cup or so of beansprouts one cup shredded carrots about acup of Chinese snow peas this calls forone shallot finely sliced or you can usegreen onions finely sliced or a half ofthe white onion remove the top and allthe ribs then slice down the pepper andthen cut into slivers the 15 minutes areup and now we’re going to glaze on somemore of the marinade and back into theoven it goes for another five to sevenminutes do this for about three to fourtimes until the pork is completelycooked and it’s glazyyummy now it’s time to make your riceyou’re going to want two cups of water apinch of salt one cup rice after itreaches a boil reduce the heat cover andsimmer for 30 minutes once the rice isdone you can check it by tipping itslightly to the side and seeing if anywater comes out if not then it is doneit’s important do not stir the ricewhile it’s cooking remove from heat andlet setafter the pork is done take it outsideand let it cool for about 10 to 15minutes okay now it’s the santé part forthe vegetables look at adding a littlebit of sesame oil avocado oil sorry sonow I’m just going to let this tinynow this point you put in your garlic[Music]the peppers and onions[Music][Music]the cabbage[Music][Music][Music]Lightning Boston[Music]then you have a full penis[Music]now saute this on a medium-high heattake about five minutes okay[Music][Music][Music][Music][Music][Music][Music][Music][Music][Music][Music]did we turn that off transfer[Music]I judge to bowls in there[Music]I hope you guys enjoy this dish as muchas I enjoyed making this and stuff likethis and I hope you guys eat well forthe next new year and see you later Ireally hope you enjoyed watching thisvideo I really enjoyed making it if youguys want to check out the video I gotthis inspired from check out Palin’skitchen on YouTube it’ll be in thedescription down below thank you verymuch for watching and I hope you guysenjoy this dish if you want to subscribego ahead I hope you guys will check outmy patreon account and support me thereas well have a great night[Music]
