hey everyone I hope you’re all having agreat week so far today we’re going tomake a slightly heavier lunch than usualwe’re actually going to grill some porkchops on our BBQ and when I think aboutgrilling in this Miami HeatI think about my trips to Negril and howwe would have jerk chicken and jerk porkin the middle of the day so we’re gonnacombine two of our favorite Caribbeanseasonings and we’re gonna put that onour pork chops and we’re gonna pair itwith some sweet fried plantains alrightbefore we get started we’re going toneed a few things some pork chops withthe bone some sweet fried plantains andsome Caribbean style jerk seasoning aswell as some Cajun seasoningyou’ll also need a cast-iron skillet sothat we can cook our sweet friedplantains along with vegetable oil orcanola oil normally I would make thisseasoning from scratch it’s not veryhard to meet jerk seasoning from scratchhowever because we’re in quarantinewe’re making do with what we have in ourpantry so I’m gonna combine these twoseasonings and then I’m gonna mix it ina bowl and then I’m gonna rub themixture on my meat really well I wouldalso add a little beard just to kick itup a notch but I don’t have any ear inthe house so as I said we’re gonna makedo with what we have then we’re gonnaput these pork chops on the grill overmedium-high heat and because it’s notthat windy today in Miami we’re actuallygonna leave the top open and we’re gonnacook for about 30 to 45 minuteswhile our pork chops are on the grill wecut two extremely red plantains thesecret to making extremely deliciousplantains is using a very ripe banana sonow what you’ll want to do is you’llwant to preheat some canola or somevegetable oil over high heat you let itget extremely hot and then we can throwthese in and they’ll cook for about fiveto seven minutesall right so after 30 to 45 minutes ofour porkchops being on the grill they’refinally doneyou look gorgeous don’t they our sweetfried plantains were done way before ourpork chops but that’s okay you could dothese in advance and let them sit now wecan begin to platehope you’ve enjoyed this video on thismeal
