ORIGINAL Memphis BBQ PORK RIBS (Rendezvous) & SCARY Story Time

hey guys what’s up it’s Mike Chenwelcome to eating red and foods andtelling random scary stories along butpretty much describes the show so I getthis package and if you guys don’t knowthere’s a famous barbecue place inMemphis Tennessee called rendezvous andI think I first saw this on man vs. foodmy good buddy Adam Richman win there bythe way try to watching the new man vs.food just not the same without Adamanyway so here’s why I got in thepackage some rendezvous barbecue popcornbarbecue sauce I got there try rub thisis really awesomecharcoal mustard slaw their famous bakedbeans and couple racks other famousbarbecue ribs family owned and operatedsince 1948 ah this looks like a goodbreakfastit’s not the pepper and the cumin I’mmaking the basting concoction right nowoh that’s goodwow that is a great sauce now let’s goshowered the ribs in this now it’scoming alive with all those vibrantcolors you know I’ve never been greatwith a brush because I’m not thatartistic so I don’t like painting I lovedoing this art that you can’t eventuallyeatlast time I was this excited I had aWagyu steak sitting in front of me ohthis thing is just permeating smoke yousee that glorious smoke ring on here aswellI think these ribs got really luckybecause they were able to bathe in thisglorious sauce whose vinegary is sweetas spicy I’m kind of jealous these ribsgot to roll around in it obviously it’sgonna be much better if you eat it I’drun they view straight off the smokerbut I ain’t complaining I know the sauceis so peppery too and I’m glad I got tworacks cuz one will definitely not beenough oh these oven baked beans areglorious not overly mushy so you stillget a nice chute in a slight crunch fromthe onions in here sweet and just likethe ribs ever so smoky this isdefinitely gonna be a finger lickinggood mealoh that’s nice there’s a huge kick inthis coleslaw oh no wow you willdefinitely feel that there’s a mustardykick which is even better than achilliest kick especially in things likepickled vegetables in coleslaw it’s adifferent type of Japan you know andjust a huge thank you to my buddy Julianwho ordered this for me and Julian iswhite from a shell they started anamazing charity amazing nonprofit thatI’m proud to be on the board of it’scalled culture city and the reason Ijoined after learning about is because Ididn’t really know how many people werethere worried out there that really hadthese sensory needsso one thing colder City does is thatpartners with organizations like the NBAthe NHL and they set up these sensoryrooms and provide sensory bags so peoplewho has since we need like usually theywouldn’t be able to handle such a loudenvironment but now because of QuarterCity if these people when these kids areable to attend sporting events concertsjust a remarkable organization that’swhy I joined but thanks again Julian forordering this from your soul it’s sonice and barbecue it’s one of thosethings I’ve been craving since thoselockdown began and of courseSeattle is it’s not really known forbarbecue but Memphis oh yeah I stillremember my last record ribs that heyover there today I got some scary storyfor you guys I know I haven’t done oneof these in a while a lot of you guysbeen asking for it so I’m really excitedto get into especially the storysubmission for this week Oh My godsreading it I was like oh my god this islike one of the scariest and this is areal story the person who sent it to meI swear that it’s a real story if it’sreal they should make a movie out of itoh let’s realize they have like wholeentire white peppers in this sauce oh mygod that really numbs your mouth offsome Memphis ribs some Chinesechrysanthemum teait’s like Memphis met China alrightlet’s get to the stories and we’re goingto start off with a couple of urbanlegends and the first one is one of myall-time favorite it is one of thespookiest things I’ve ever heard of mylife because it’s it’s real anyway thisis the story of the o’kiku dollthe story takes place in 1918 inHokkaido Japan by the way best producebest seafood in Japan Hokkaido there wasa young man he was 17 years old he had alittle sister called Kiku ko she wasonly three so he went out to war andwhen he came back he wanted to bring hersomething so he brought her a littledoll in this doll had a cute okappa hairstylist it’s one of those hairstyles yousee in traditional Japanese dolls wherethe hair comes down to the cheek with ashort bang over the forehead so he gaveher this doll and she loved it so somuch she loved it so much that she tookit everywhere she even slept with thedoll tragically after catching a coldthe following year Kiku cold died so thefamily wanting to remember the littlegirl they put the doll in the familyshrine and they pray to it after herdeath and they called the doll o’kikuafter their last child but after a whilethey started through noticed thatsomething was strange with the doll theynoticed that the hair on the doll whichagain only came down to her cheek whenkakuka was alive the hair slowly startedto grow into the family that was a signthat Kiku calls from restless spiritswas possessing the doll I mean to behonest and that was my daughter eventhough I loved her so so much if herdolls hair started growing I’d be havinga different type of barbecue and you canbe sure did one choice you should beinvited mmm supernatural in Japan thatwould be scary it imagine like theWinchesters versus the girl from theringanyway the family actually kept a dollfor a couple decades then finally in1938 kay koukos father donated a doll tomy mangy temple and that’s where thedoll remains to this day you canactually go there today and see the dolland the hair on the doll is stillgrowing to this day to the point wherethey actually have to trim the hair onthe doll and you might think thattrimming the the hair on a curse scaryJapanese doll might be a little riskybut apparently one of the priests had adream and he dreamed that the curseddoll was his haircut and one of therules in life is that if a cursed jobStahl wants a haircut you give it ahaircut what’s even scarier is that thedoll’s hair has been scientificallyexamined and they found that it wasindeed human hair growing from the dolland some say that if you look into themouth of the doll you can see that teethare there now where it hasn’t beenbefore so I guess if Chucky ever wanteda Japanese bride that’s where he couldgo the next urban legend is also fromJapan II and I chose it because I feellike right now it’s the perfect time forit so consider this like like a PSAwarning and this is the story ofkuchisake-onna war slit-mouthed womanyou know how everyone’s walking aroundwearing a mask now well in Japankuchisake-onna was a malevolent spiritwho was mutilated and killed when shewas alive now she’s a spirit seekingvengeance wherever she goes and her namecomes from the deep bloody gash thatruns across her face almost like a moreextreme Joker and she always walksaround with a mask that covers up thescars so one thing we do know aboutkuchisake-onnashe’s really serious about not catchingcovet and there’s different variationsof what she was like when she was alivesome say that she was the wife of asamurai who cheated on her husband andwhen he found out he sliced her with hissword cutting her across the face otherssay that the mutilation came from asurgical procedure some say it was doneby another woman who was so jealous ofher beauty but one thing everyone agreeson is that coochie sucker when I used tobe a beautiful woman but now she’s oneof the most terrifying spirits known inJapan because of what she does when shemeets you because kuchisake-onna isknown to sneak up on her victims in thedarkshe’ll tap them on the shoulder andasked him do you think I’m pretty and ifyou say yes she’ll rip off her maskrevealing her terrifying face and askyou again do you still think I’m prettyand at this point most people are peeinga little bit and will say yes to prettymuch anything that’s asked of them butif you answer yes she’ll walk away youthink you might have escaped but thenlater died nice she’ll follow you homeand slaughter you in your sleep but ifyou’re honest and you say no more youscream in terrorshe’ll slice you across the face rightaway with the knife she always carriesaround with her so you’ll look just likeherand apparently there are ways you canget away fromif you say maybe it somehow confuses herday you can get away when she ask you ifshe’s pretty if you just take the middlerap you like I mean I guess you’re allright I mean I wouldn’t date you but Ithink you’re okay so if you saysomething like that apparently she’llget really confused because it’s likeit’s not one of the answers she’sexpecting and then you can get away orif you throw money or candy at her soapparently kuchisake-onna has a sweettooth and she’s a gold digger all rightthe next story is sent in by Patrickfrom the Philippines by the way if youguys want I’mgonna tell it show dishes doctor in thePhilippines and of course he works in ahospital and finally after a long longday full surgeries and dealing withpatients he finally gets off work so hehits to the elevatorhe sees that there’s a woman in theelevator she’s pretty attractive so hewalks into the elevator he smiles at hershe smiles back and they make a littlesmall talk as the elevator door closesah those are good thingsoh man I never liked being as much butthese things like I’m Charisse we smokeddoctor goes to the elevator she’s abeautiful woman and they say hi to eachother as the elevator doors started toclose when the doctor turned aroundfacing the elevator door he saw a youngboy in a hospital gown running to theelevator gesturing for them to hold thedoor for him but instead the doctorfrantically pushed the door closedbuttons so the door closed right beforethe boy got to the elevatorso after the door closed a woman looksat the doctor she’s kind of perplexedshe’s like why don’t you wait for thelittle boy that’s so rude of you thedoctor looks at her knee he says thatwasn’t a little boy he had a red coloredtag on his wrist so the woman asked himso what does that mean and the doctorsays we only put those red tags onpeople who have already died and rightawaythe doctor could see the blood flush outof the woman’s face she was terrifiedfrom hearing what he just said but thedoctor reassured her and said it’s okayif he didn’t make it to the elevatorwe’re safe now but the woman didn’t sayanything she just looked down at herfeet and slowly revealing a red tag theyshe looked at the doctor and said youmean something like thisI almost love to size some wooden I loveD stretch but I’ve been hogging Ihaven’t been able to like properly focuson eating these ribs I’m kind of gettingcold him so sad tried the next story issubmitted by Whitney Sullivan thank youso much for the story Whitney it istruly terrifying so when he writes downwhen she was five years old like manylittle kidsshe had an imaginary friend herimaginary fresh name was Alice and ofcourse she told her mom about broom ageneric for an Allison her mom didn’treally think anything of it but her momstarted to complain that Whitney wasusing a bathroom too much late at nightbut when he told her mom that she neverused the bathroom late at night so onenight when his mom too said it’s just tostay up and catch Whitney in the act solate one night Whitney’s mom was stayingup and she hears the sound of littlefeet running across the living room andhow their house was structure was thatwhen he had a room her littletwo-year-old sister had a room themiddle was the living room and her mom’sroom was right next to the bathroomacross the living room she had to crossthe living room to get to the bathroomso her mom here’s the little Peppa passsound of the feet running to thebathroom so she yells out Whitney stopgoing to the bathroom so late at nightfirst of all we need what’s your mom nowwhy don’t you go to bathroom I mean whenyou gotta go you gotta go anyway whenshe yelled at Whitney when you woke upand came out of her room and said I’mnot using the bathroom so her mom comesout of her bedroom and Whitney of coursecame out of her bedroom and they bothwent to the bathroom but they both seethat the bathroom light was on so theyboth went to the bathroom and lookedinside and there in the bathroom was alittle girl standing on the stool thatWhitney uses to brush her teeth a littlegirl was stinging down the stoolbrushing her hair and after she brushedit a few times she stopped mid brush andturn around and looked at them that’swhen Whitney and her mom noticed thatthe girl had no face immediatelyWhitney’s mom grab her grab her youngersister and they’d left a place thatnights which I really commend her likethat’s a normal reaction my first belike oh it’s a ghost but we paid toomuch rent so yeah that’s okay tomorrowwe’ll just cook some garlic and they’llgo away and the story doesn’t end thereso 14 years later when Whitney was 19years old and that’s the age she got herfirst apartment so she was there with abunch of her friends just goofing aroundon the deck all of a sudden one of herfriends Adam quieted everybody downhey Shh yeah you guys hear that no Iknew what I was talking about so theyall stay quiet and they listen in asounded like a voice calling outWhitney’s name it was a really softwhisper that seemed to come from theother side of a wall of bushes so Adamasks Whitney was on the other side ofthese bushes and apparently it was acemetery so these being young kids andbeing really adventurous so they decidedto investigate and see where the voicewas coming from so they go into thecemetery and the voice got louder andlouder so they did their thinking atthis point it’s a prank as one of theirfriends was pranking them doing this sothey go further into the cemetery all ofa sudden they see a small figure runningso they take off after it then the smallfigure runs to a histone stops anddisappears so they looked at theheadstone to see who it belonged todidn’t laugh the whole thing off andwent back to the house thinking maybe itwas just their imagination or a prank sothe next week Whitney’s home with hermom and she’s telling her mom the storyand her mom asks her what name did yousee on the tombstone and when he saidAlice shoemaker right then her mom’sface went complete pale and she droppedthe glass she was drinking out of in ashattered on the floor so then her momreminded Whitney of her old imaginaryfriend and what happened the night theyall ran out of the house but when hejust laughed and said it was just acoincidence that her imaginary friendback at the time was named Alice and thetombstone said Alice shoemaker just acoincidence but her mom said no oneproceeded to tell her that the nightthey ran out of the house was the lastnight they ever stayed in that homebecause the next day they packed up andmoved and when her mom told the landlordwhy they’re moving the landlord wasn’treally shocked at all and said that nofamily with kids ever stayed too long inthat apartment unit because in 1982 alittle seven-year-old girl drowned inher bathtub in that apartment unit hername Alice shoemaker I don’t know whenyou I’m all big on making friends but Ireally wouldn’t want a friend where if Iwant to communicate with her I’d have touse a Ouija board I think you shoulddefinitely burn some sage or somethingbecause I think that ghost girl will befollowing you right now I’m all abouthelping people and saving people but ifI ever walk by a cemetery or anabandoned building or a creepy lookinghouse and I hear a kid crying or a kidlaughing or anysort of display of emotion I’m notinvestigating it I’m just I’m not I wishit all the best I don’t want to know I’mnot going to look for the source of thelaughter what were they what they’recrying I mean I don’t know how a littlekid goes can kill you but I mean we’veall seen movies with these girls likethe little girl in the sixth sensethrowing up on the little boy that’sjust trying to help her I don’t want anyghost vomit I don’t want any little kidgirls asking me to play in anotherdimension or opening some gates of Hellthat I don’t really want to pass throughand I would feel really bad if that wasindeed a kid a real kid crying in acemetery I really needed help but
