This Thai grilled pork is marinated in coconut milk, oyster sauce, soy sauce and other spices. It gives that sweet, salty, and savory balance. The pork skewers are great with some rice, spicy sauce and vegetables.
It’s also important to follow the mixing instructions as in the video because those few steps makes the pork moist and tender.
Recipe serves 6-8
2 Lbs pork shoulder-sliced 1/4 inch thick
3 Tbsp oil
1/2 Tsp salt
Mix 3-5 minutes
For marinade
1/2 Cup coconut milk or evaporated milk
1 Tbsp garlic paste or 6 cloves garlic
4 Tbsp sugar
1/4 Cup oyster sauce
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tsp dark soy sauce
2 Tsp Chicken bouillon
1 1/2 Tsp coriander powder
1/2 Tsp black pepper
1/2 Tsp white pepper
1 Tbsp corn starch
Combine all ingredients mix another 3-5 or until most marinade absorbed into the meat. Let marinate overnight or at least 3 hours. Grill on medium high heat 3-4 minutes on each side or just until cooked through. Over cooking will make the meat dry. You can also freeze them and reheat whenever you have cravings.
