Bourbon and Brown sugar BBQ Sauce

Bourbon and Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce
INGREDIENTS
• 1 cup ketchup
• 1/2 cup bourbon
• 3 tablespoons brown sugar
• 3 tablespoons mild (light) molasses
• 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 1.5 oz Ardbeg Scotch (or any Islay Scotch)
• 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
PREPARATION
Bring all ingredients to boil in saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; simmer until sauce is reduced to 2 cups, stirring often, about 10 minutes.

all right welcome back to the channelyeah I’m in the kitchen again and I’mgonna do a real quick video goestomorrow it’s gonna be a big video sowhat I’m doing at night is I’m making abourbon and brown sugar barbecue saucebecause tomorrow morning I’m putting abrisket in the smoker and I’ve nevermade a barbecue sauce before so lookthrough a bunch of recipes found a bunchof really good ideas and so I came upwith my own list of ingredients andhere’s what I’m putting it I’m startingoff starting off a cup of ketchup and1/2 cup of bourbon and I’m usingBarton’s 1792 that’s just a small batchnot the full proof and brown sugarmolasses apple cider WorcestershireDijon mustard I’m using onion powdergarlic powder crushed red peppers blackpeppercorns and salt a couple of theserecipes I looked at they wanted to usesoy sauce and I was pretty sure that wasfor the salt content I’m using regularsalt and some of them called for liquidsmoke to give you that barbecue smokyflavor so because I’m not using liquidsmoke I’m substituting something elseand this might upset some Scotch peoplebut I’ve decided I’m gonna use this formy smoke Ardbeg because I like our bedand it’s might be MPD and it will giveit a different flavor I think so in lieuof the soy sauce is a liquid I’m usingthe salt but I’m gonna use a little bitmore of the bag to give me the smokyflavor so I’m just gonna combine allthese into a saucepan on the stove overthere over medium heat bring it up to aboil then I’m gonna just let it sit fora little while and simmer downright around I should go right aroundtwo cups out of this so let’s takeeverything over here put in the pot getit boiling all right I’ve got all myingredients over here I already measuredout the brown sugar and onion powdergarlic powder pepper flakes salt andpepper in here when I put my liquids infirst so I’m gonna start with theketchup[Music]you’ve got that in there next thing weneed to do is check the Bourbon makesure it’s okay yep alright so go aheadbourbon in here nowapple cider vinegar Worcestershire saucea little bit all right now I’m gonna addDijon mustard better to see any of thatbrown sugar and dry spices whisk now weneed to add our smoke smokereally about[Music]salty smoke it’s almost a barbecue allright so bourbon and brown sugarbarbecue sauce to a boil reduce heatreduce down a little bit and put this ina pan and it be ready for tomorrowlet’s stick it in the frigerator that’sit all right thanks for watching areally quick video on bourbon and brownsugar BBQ sauce if you liked what I’mdoinghit the like button ring the bellsubscribe and I’m gonna put this recipedown below so you can see what I’m doingthanks for watching we’ll see you nexttime
