Char Siu Bao | Bbq Pork Bun | Chinese Recipe | wa’s Kitchen

Barbecue Pork Buns are very enjoyable in the winter months. It may sound a bit long to prepare but it isn’t so if you make the pork the day before. Please try it and enjoy! Also find our other recipes on the website :

Ingredients :
– 300g plain flour or cake flour ( T45 )
– 4.5g baking powder
– 3.5g dry yeast
– 30g white sugar
– 3.5g fine salt
– 8g lard
– 150ml water
– 30ml milk
For the filling
– 300g char siu (barbecue pork)
– 2 onions – roughly chopped
For the seasoning :
– 25g sugar
– 1 tbsp soy sauce
– 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
– 1/2 tbsp shaohsing rice cooking wine or cooking sake or white wine
– 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
– 1 tbsp honey
– 1 tbsp corn starch – dissolve with 1 tbsp water
