HOW TO MAKE KETO RIBS
______________________________________________________________

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
– 1 rack of St.Louis Style Ribs
– BBQ Rub
– 1/4 cup of butter
– 2 cloves of garlic
– 1 lime
– Course kosher salt

METHOD:

Step #1
To Start off, apply a layer of olive oil onto the outside of the ribs. This will also help bind your rub to the ribs. Next, apply your bbq rub to both sides of the ribs and let it sit while you get your grill set up for smoking at 250F.

Step #2
With your grill up to 250F, place the ribs opposite the coals and place on your hardwood of your choice. Close the lid and begin cooking for around 3 hours or until you have the desired color and bark.

Step #3
After your ribs have nice color, remove them from the grill and place them foil wrap with your butter and garlic. Wrap everything up and place it back on the grill until tender and your desired of doneness. For us this was around 1.5 hours.

Step #4
After the ribs have been tenderized in the foil remove them from the foil and back on the grill. Glaze the ribs with your garlic butter sauce and let them set for about 10 minutes before removing from the grill. Once removed from the grill squeeze on some fresh lime and a pinch of course salt before digging in.

That’s it, enjoy.

hey welcome back to postal barbecue I’mJayden postal and today at the grillwe’re making some delicious keto stylebutter braised ribs that you’re gonnalove for sure and just like always I’mgonna put all the show notes for you inthe description box below so make sureto click down there see everything thatyou need for this recipe also if youlike what we’re doing on the showconsider subscribing for more great BBQrecipes tutorials and reviews now themantle let’s get into the cook so to getstarted with this recipe you’re gonnaneed a rack of st. louis-style cut ribsthat’s what we got here or if you can’tfind those baby backs will do just fineas well and so the first thing thatwe’re gonna do to prepare these ribs isremove this membrane on the back and sowith a like a butter style knife just goahead and and sort of wedge itunderneath that membrane you get yourfinger underneath it all the way to theother side there we go then we’re justgonna rip through to both sides thatside there there we go and this one’salready trimmed up fairly well so I’mjust gonna leave it you could cut offthe end a little bit here but it’s notthat crucial for this recipe okay sowith the membrane removed let’s go aheadand apply a little bit of oil this is alemon infused oil and this is gonna justcomplement this style of recipe thatwe’re going to be doing here and so justput a little coat on both sides youdon’t need much and we’re hoping for alittle bit of those citrus notes to popthrough in these ribs this oil is alsogonna act as a little bit of a binderfor our rub to stick to when we put itonto the meat and so for our rub we havemixed in here at two tablespoons ofblack pepper 2 tablespoons of koshersalt one tablespoon of garlic powderhalf a tablespoon of onion powder oneteaspoon of chili powder and about 1/4teaspoon of cayenne pepper and so withthat all mixed up go ahead and placeyour rub on to both sides of the meatand when you’re putting your rub on makesure to do both sides as well as theedges you want this all good and coatedand you’ll notice that there isn’t anysugar in this rubwe want that natural sweetness that’s inthe pork not to come out a little bitand because I originally made thisrecipe for a friend who does keto Iwanted to keep it as true as possible tothat original so with these ribs allseasoned up and ready to go let’s goahead and get the weber kettle set upfor cooking around 250 degrees to set upour grill today I placed in about 15briquettes into the Sloan’s here and gotthem fully lit with the BBQ dragon justto speed things up a little bit I thenfilled up the remainder of the sloan-cwith unlit briquettes I also added someboiling water into the water reservoiras well as added some hardwood and todayI’m going to be using some apple andmaple wood chunks just to add a littlebit of that sweetness that we’re lookingfor in these ribs so with our kettlessitting just under 250 degrees let’s goahead and place our ribs onto theindirect side of the grill with our ribson the grill is close the lid and we’llstart cooking around 250 degrees ourribs have now been on the kettle forabout 3 hours now so let’s open up thegrill and take a look you can see thatthere’s some great color on these ribsthere’s a little bit of bone pull backstarting to happen so let’s pull themoff and get them into our butter-braisedso in our foil poach I’m going to stickabout 1/4 cup of butter into the bottomnext I’m gonna take a 2 cloves of garlicand place that down on top of thatbutter then I’m gonna take our ribs andplace the meat side down right on top ofthat butter then gonna take theremainder of that stick of butter andplace it onto the top of our ribs thenwith everything in our foil pouch it’sgonna wrap it upnice and tight then with them wrapped upI’m gonna take them and place them backonto the grill meat side down and we’regonna continue cooking these for belowan hour and a half to two hours beforewe check them again for tenderness soI’ve let these ribs cook in the foilpouch for just over an hour and a halfand so let’s open up the grill and justsee how tender they become guys I wishyou could smell this it’s it’sabsolutely phenomenal that garlic andthat butter coming together oh I can’twait to taste these it’s what I’mlooking for here is that the bones havea nice pullback on them and then when Ijust wiggle the bones you can you cansee there that are almost wanting topull out and this is exactly what we’relooking for in tenderness and so I’mgonna pull them out of the foil pouchand put them back on to the grill andget them brushed up with a little bit ofthat butter braised sauce that we’vebeen using to braise these ribs for thepast couple hours then with our ribsbrushed with that butter I’m gonna closethe lid and we’re gonna continue cookingthese for another 15 to 20 minutes justto allow these ribs to firm back up justa little bit before we cut in for thetaste test[Music][Applause][Music]so our ribs are all done they took justunder five hours to do and guys theysmell absolutely rich with flavor and solet’s cut into it and just see how theyare cool these are tender when you’recutting through ribs and they just feellike butter you know they’re gonna begood we’re gonna do a couple more thingsjust before we take the taste test whatI’m gonna do is I’m gonna take somefresh-squeezed lime and I’m gonnasqueeze that all over just to help cutthat fat this is gonna give it a reallynice light flavor you’re gonna take alittle bit of salt and sprinkle that ontop as well there we go let’s take alook at this here Wow look at that smokering I’m gonna go in for the taste testand see how it is[Music]mmm-hmm because these ribs areabsolutely deliciousthey’re rich they’re buttery they’rejuicy they’ve packed with that nicesmoky flavor but they also have afreshness from that lime we’ve squeezedon it if you’ve never tried ribs likethis before guys I’m telling you you’rein for a treat let’s do this one[Music]so that’s how you make those deliciousbutter braised ribs on the kettle grillhey if you like what we’re doing on thischannel make sure to hit that subscribebutton as well as that notification belland we’ll see
